It is back with an event not to be missed, the series of events organized in Milan by Onav Lombardy to present Italian excellences. On Monday, 1st December, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., at the Star Hotel Ritz Milan, THE NEBBIOLI OF HIGH PIEDMONT will be staged, an evening dedicated to this precious Piedmontese vine. Nebbiolo, pure or blended with other historical varieties, such as Vespolina, Croatina and Uva Rara, in geologically different areas, produces wines of rare finesse, elegance and surprising longevity.
ONAV Lombardy, in collaboration with the Nebbioli High Piedmont Protection Consortium, will lead to the discovery of these masterpieces of the entire national viticultural landscape, amazing for the great temperament and the little nuances, in some cases reaching a level of complexity, unpredictability and strength expressive, found in some terroir of the Cote d’Or.
The comparison with the wine–growing Burgundy continues, given the composition of the distribution with a number of small designations of similar origin. That is, two DOCG Ghemme in the Novara area and Gattinara in the Vercelli area, and six Doc Fara, Sizzano and Boca in the Novara area, Lessona near Biella, Bramaterra divided into the provinces of Biella and Vercelli ed finally the newly founded Valli Ossolane dwelling in the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola.
Together with these designations, we find the Colline Novaresi, referring to the entire province of Novara, and Coste della Sesia, located between the provinces of Biella and Vercelli.
Organoleptically the Nebbioli of these areas are rich in malic acid, marked by a more or less bulky wines produced in Langa, but surely more refined in tannins and varietal features.
For tasting there will be the realities of this region, from the oldest companies to the emerging ones that with their fine wines will create an absolutely unmissable opportunity.
