Year after year, since 1992, Helmuth Koecher defined boundaries and contents of the adventure of making wine in Italy and abroad. An event that goes beyond the spectacular event, and which stands as one of the most exclusive places and opportunities for all industry operators. Information, culture, social life of wine together at the Kurhaus, the Liberty building situated in the center of Merano, the tourist gem of the Alps.

Every year, the passionate and competent work of 10 committees of taste creates the "festival" event, provides the contents of a unique event: great wines and haute cuisine enclosed in a clear and simple concept, or "true excellence". Over 500 wineries selected out of national and international companies, over 100 Italian companies of haute cuisine are the heart of our proposal, through which we offer every year the best selections available.

A multi–faceted event, rich in opportunities for knowledge, meeting, discussion. The Merano WineFestival is a structured space, within which we have created specific sections, directly dedicated to specific areas of interest.

Cult2014: an absolute novelty in the events dedicated to wine. Strongly supported by Helmuth Koecher, Cult2014 simultaneously presents the 40 most prestigious wine producers in Italy. An opportunity to get to know a unique selection, full of history and values.

bio&dynamica: nature, with its rhythms and its logic defines wines we call organic, biodynamic and natural. These wines have taken over the years more and more precise profile and an identity. A vision, a philosophy, a flavour that are the utmost attention in our festival.

Gastronomy: gourmet cuisine as essential parameter to access this challenging section. A reasoned choice of products at absolute level, a journey through the best and most exclusive of the great Italian and international gastronomic tradition.

Chef’s Challenge: the show inside the show–cooking is always a great school to dictate the actions and choices of great cooks. Inevitable passage for every gastronomic event, the event tells how to create haute cuisine with the professionalism of the great chefs.

Beer Passion: craftsman knowledge becomes beer. Important voice in the beverage industry, beer becomes more and more an opportunity to create a product of great level, nice and thought of as a real status, a way of life. Our selection is, as always, full and exhaustive.

Club Excellence: the valuable work of bringing in the best of Italian wine production worldwide. Winning choices and meticulous work, attention to detail and ability to guess what they are and will be the inclinations of taste of connoisseurs. A major section, a bridge between Merano and the world.

Wine Master Classes: guided tastings of valuable wines. To accompany with skill and passion, knowledge of a wine, defining each stroke both organoleptic and local level. In a way, this section could be called "the workshop of the MWF".

GourmetArena: the marquee of 300 meters bordering the Kurhaus is the seat of our food proposal, but also of wine, beer, kitchen facilities consortia. The far end is the seat of our cooking show.
