Harrykuminciamu: Sicily's winemaking relaunches united

Faced with the wounds left by Cyclone Harry, the Sicilian wine world is responding with a united gesture of responsibility and solidarity. Between January 19th and 23rd, the violent storm that struck the Mediterranean—one of the most intense in the last 25 years for the Sicilian coast—knocked down numerous restaurant and hospitality businesses, leaving profound scars not only on the structures but also on the economic and human fabric of the region. From this awareness, Harrykuminciamu was born, a symbol of recovery and community. At the initiative of Assovini Sicilia , a large solidarity tasting open to the public is taking place on Saturday, March 28th in the prestigious setting of the Benedictine Monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena in Catania, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The event aims to be more than a fundraiser: it is a collective embrace and a concrete sign of unity between sectors that share identities, histories, and perspectives. The wine industry, a natural partner of restaurants, wine shops, and hospitality businesses, is mobilizing to support a sector closely connected to its own, recognizing its cultural and economic value. Harrykuminciamu will therefore be a moment of sharing and support. Alongside the wineries' tasting stands, there will be stands offering gastronomic specialties, curated by the Unione Regionale Cuochi Siciliani . The daily newspaper La Sicilia is the event's media partner. The event, open to the public subject to availability, costs €25, which includes one drink. All proceeds will be donated to restaurant and hospitality businesses affected by the emergency. Every organizational aspect—from press office to operational management of the stands—will be conducted in a spirit of solidarity, as will the contributions of the suppliers who have chosen to participate in the initiative free of charge.
