AIS ROMAGNA WORKSHOPS AGENDA
FRIDAY 23/01/2015
4:00 p.m. Pignoletto and Rebola: from a single grape variety, sea and mountains in comparison.
Speaker: PICCIONI BRUNO
On a journey of brilliant glasses, with Bruno Piccioni we will travel to the verdant hills of Bologna, his cradle of adoption. Heading south we svestirà of effervescence and the hills of Rimini, warm sun and cool breeze, it will present to us changed identity. With the name of Rebola it shows its strength and its persistent enveloping almond.
FRIDAY 23/01/2014
6:00 p.m. Marche DOCG: Tradition and quality in the glass
It would be enough to go back to the etymology of the name: "mark" from the German "border", to understand the diversity of this region. So far the boundaries stretched of the Holy Roman Empire stretched and, like all the lands destined to live among the borders of other ones, it was a passageway of the products from North to South. Marche is the only region that still boasts a plural name, such is the variety that is alive, even in the wine world. From cool, dry and delicately scented wines like Verdicchio, Pecorino and Passerina, the red ones of impenetrable body such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese and Vernaccia.
SATURDAY, 24/01/2015
3:00 p.m. Native grapes and wines: the added value of an area
What can describe a territory? What identifies and differentiates it? Its people, its products, its heritage: here is the meaning of native. In a word is contained the history of an entire land. And we are the land of the native, with over 600 varieties.
The meeting, conducted by Annalisa Linguerri that with tales of wine, grapes and winemakers will also describe an unpublished and unheard of us.
SATURDAY, 24/01/2015
5:00 p.m. Romagna DOCG Albana: many types and a name to be enhanced
Those were the days of the great Roman and already Pliny the Elder sang its praises. Then centuries passed; 1987 is when the Romagna DOCG Albana acquires the DOCG recognition, first among the white wines in Italy. A story of success, the one of Albana, yet it still seems too early to fully outline a common profile. Will we succeed in this meeting? Glasses in hand, we feel Albana.
SATURDAY, 24/01/2015
7:00 p.m. Bubbles: combinations of high class, how and when to combine sparkling wines
Sparkling wines for party? Not only! Sparkling wines can accompany meals: they are excellent aperitif companions or noble knights of dessert. With Roberto Gardini, one of the world’s most experienced tasters or the effervescent world, we’ll have to arrange marriages of taste, that will please even the less passionate tasters.
SUNDAY, 25/01/2015
4:00 p.m. Lambrusco: territories, types, a wine for everyone
It is the fruit of Labrusca, the oldest and wildest vine. It is the symbol of the opulence of the cities of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where the full of cholesterol pork meats triumph, in sausages and masterfully prepared.
Effervescent, of a purple color that brings joy and conquest, maybe this is the reason why it is also one of the most exported wines in the world. Only with Giorgio Amadei we can speak of Lambrusco and involve you in this part of the world all absolutely typical of Emilia.
SUNDAY, 25/01/2015
6:00 p.m. Sangiovese di Romagna: its potential for evolution
It is long, exciting and unique history of Sanguis Jovis, which from the Roman banquets arrived in the sixteenth century to conquer the center and south of Renaissance Italy. In 1876 in Siena the Ampelography Commission meets to distinguish types, which now only in Italy are found in over one hundred Doc. In 2011 Romagna Sangiovese arrives, a victory, but also a new challenge for producers, who see themselves involved in a new disciplinary. We then share the point with one of the men of Sangiovese, Giorgio Amadei.
