Appointment at Piacenza Expo from 27 to 29 November 2021. A journey through Italy that starts from respect for the territory and the culture of wine

The tenth edition of the Independent Winegrowers' Wine Market will take place from Saturday 27 to Monday 29 November 2021 in the Piacenza Expo spaces. Here it will be possible to meet the producers belonging to the FIVI - Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers - who will tell visitors about their work in person, inviting them to taste and buy the wines for tasting. The Independent Winegrowers follow the entire production chain, from the cultivation of the vineyards to the production and sale of wine: they are the representatives of an authentic viticulture, which wants to be the guardian of the territory and of the culture of Italian wine , contributing to the restart of the country. “The tenth edition is an important milestone for us - explains Matilde Poggi , president of FIVI - especially since we were already waiting to celebrate last year, but due to the pandemic it was necessary to postpone. This year we are ready, organized and excited: we can't wait to get together, in safety, to share this moment of joy. The FIVI Market is more than a fair, it is an opportunity to meet , where you can discover the authenticity and genuineness of passionate producers, who today more than ever want to return to tell their wines and their work ". A safe exhibition space , compliance with the rules of social distancing, extended opening hours, monitored entrances: these are some of the elements that will allow visitors to experience the event in the best possible way. There will be - as per tradition - the Artisans of Food who will complete the exhibition with their gastronomic gems. In this tenth edition, the innovative element introduced in 2019 is reconfirmed, with the addition, to the traditional market weekend, of Monday as a day dedicated mainly to professional operators in the commercial sector and the Horeca channel. “ Piacenza Expo is reconfirmed as the strategic place to hold the Wine Market - declares the Sole Administrator of Piacenza Expo Giuseppe Cavalli - thanks above all to a key position and easily reachable from all over Italy, as well as from our friends from across the Alps. We have worked hard in this particular year and we are prepared to host a great 10th edition of the Wine Market ”. In order to encourage contactless and eliminate queues, it is advisable to book admission to the Market by purchasing tickets online - starting from October - on the event website www.mercatodeivini.it, with the possibility of cumulative tickets for several days .

By statute, only producers who meet certain specific criteria can join the FIVI: "The FIVI winemaker cultivates his vines, bottles his own wine, personally taking care of his product. He sells all or part of his harvest in bottles, under his responsibility , with his name and his label ". Currently there are about 1300 associated producers, from all Italian regions, for a total of about 13,000 hectares of vineyards, for an average of about 10 hectares of vineyards per farm. Almost 95 million bottles are sold and the total turnover is close to 0.8 billion euros, for an export value of 330 million euros. The 13,000 hectares of vineyards are conducted for 51% in an organic / biodynamic regime and for 49% according to the principles of integrated pest management.
