A success for Fattoria Villa Ligi di Pergola. Its Metodo Classico Brut Pergola Rosé "Emma Rossi" was among the ten wines not to be missed during the Fair.
The prestigious recognition for the Pergola company, owned by the Tonelli family, came from Gambero Rosso.
"Classic method from Aleatico grapes—and that alone would be enough to pique your curiosity or direct you to the winery's stand—it's surprising in the glass: a very light, almost diaphanous color, a subtle texture, and a well-defined salinity that makes it composed, yet with a burst of vitality. A sparkling wine with an original, unconventional identity," writes Gambero Rosso.
Stefano Tonelli, winemaker and representative of the company at the Verona Fair, is proud of this review: "It is produced from 100% Aleatico grapes from the company's vineyards located in the municipality of Pergola. This distinction demonstrates that from the historic grape variety of the upper Cesano Valley and the experience and tradition of Fattoria Villa Ligi, it is possible to produce multifaceted wines of the highest quality. The versatility evident in the great personality that endures in the Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico style is truly gratifying and encourages us to tenaciously continue our journey of preserving, protecting, and spreading the winemaking tradition of the hills of the upper Cesano Valley."
The wine is dedicated to Emma Rossi, Francesco's mother, who in the 1970s led the winemaking business from the second to the third generation with extreme tenacity and dedication, dedicating herself entirely to maintaining the family's identity.
