The initiative is open to all operators in the province of Siena, with particular attention to those working in the thirteen Comuni in the production of DOC Orcia, but there will also be operators of nearby Arezzo, Grosseto, Florence, as well as local journalists and professional tasters, who have appreciated the designation for a long time, and became connoisseurs and estimators.
The event will open at 11 am and will run until 6pm on March 11th, 2013. At 12:30 there will be a buffet with local products. At 4pm, after the President of the Consorzio Vino Orcia DOC's speech, the first vertical Orcia wines since 2000 to today will begin.
"An event," said the president Donella Vannetti, "we had thought for some time now and finally has become true. I am sure many in the gastronomy sector will visit us at the Doc Orcia wine preview. I maintain that is is possible to reach an "agreement" with those who have believed in the potential of our wines and let us grow making Doc Orcia appreciated. We consider it essential to match our wines with other excellent foods our beautiful area is rich of. Operators in the food and wine sector and tourism, who are already enjoying our labels, confirm their confidence in our capabilities and will make the Doc Orcia grow further ".
Companies attending the event are members of the Consortium: Atrivm, Berni Valentino, Campotondo, Capitoni Marco, Fattoria del Colle, Il Pero, La Canonica, Podere Albiano, Podere Forte, Poggio al Vento, Poggio Grande, Pometti, Sante Marie di Vignoni, SassodiSole, Trequanda, Val d'Orcia Terre Senesi.
