The 77th edition of the International Handcraft Exhibition hosts artisans from
more than 50 foreign countries and from all over Italy.


The Fortezza da Basso in Florence becomes the 'City of Beauty', a unique place to discover the ways of craft and tradition, to surprise yourself along the paths of innovation, to get enthusiastic along the routes of taste, to have fun in an agenda of events and shows no-stop.

Clothing, furniture and accessories, jewelry, silverware, objects and gift items, food and wine: traditional craft products, from ethnic inspirations and classical forms of handmade creations, to the ancient flavours of tradition.


The workshop of taste: local dishes and delicacies from around the world
From 20th to 28th April at the Fortezza da Basso a sort of treasure hunt on the pursuit of the last sweet and savoury delicacies from every corner of the world will take place. Within the over 6,000 square meters of the attic floor of the Spadolini Pavilion entirely dedicated to the most exclusive food,

the 77th edition of the event welcomes many original food and wine solutions, a multi-sensory journey along the traditional flavours of our regions and the infinite variety of recipes and dishes from far away countries. An example? The 'Maharadscha' dish, of strong and spicy taste, that can be tasted with pappadams (Indian bread) at the vegetarian German restaurant at the attic floor of the Spadolini Pavilion, where there will be space also for a Tibetan restaurant, a French Creperie, a Sangria and Mojito 'stop', alongside a wide range of tastings set up in the Italian and foreign stands. Garden Restaurant will be a dining area divided into self-service, open-plan kitchen with the participation of star chefs and an area reserved for institutional dinners.

For those who, after visiting the pavilion, would love to relax outdoors, the offer is tempting at the north-west Piazzale, which hosts the Tyrolean Restaurant (from dumplings to goulash to wienerschnitzel up to strudel and the unmistakable sacher torte), the Restaurant of Spain, Mugello and Emilia of the Province of Reggio Emilia, where the most important dish is fried dumplings. For those who love grilled meat a must is Griglieria La Carbonata, where food is accompained by excellent beer of the many craft micro-breweries present at the fair.

For passionate 'foodies' with fondness for 'sweets', not to be missed is a break at the Spadolini pavilion (Lower floor), where inside the Moroccan tent you can taste tea with pastries and at the Lorenese Apartment in direct contact with delicious proposals of chocolate and superfine cakes.
