CORDERO DI MONTEZEMOLO WINERY: “FUORICASA” DEBUT AT VINITALY

  • 25/03/2026

At Vinitaly 2026, Cantina Cordero di Montezemolo is pleased to present its latest creation: Fuoricasa. This Langhe DOC, made from 100% Pelaverga grapes, stems from the desire to reinterpret a historic local grape variety through a contemporary and innovative vision. Attached and at the link below, you'll find the full press release with all the technical and narrative details of the new label.

On the occasion of the next edition of Vinitaly , scheduled in Verona from 12 to 15 April , the Cordero di Montezemolo winery presents FUORICASA , a Langhe DOC from the Pelaverga grape variety that offers a contemporary interpretation of one of the most identifying grape varieties of the Langhe.

FUORICASA was born from the desire to present Pelaverga with a free and contemporary perspective, yet profoundly respectful of its identity,” says Alberto Cordero di Montezemolo . “It's a grape variety we love for its finesse and character, and one we feel is closely connected to the way we experience wine today: with curiosity and pleasure. This project is “out of home” only in name: the vineyard is located on the same hillside as Verduno. A new way to stay true to the Langa, without forcing anything .”

The wine will be officially presented during the Verona event at the Cordero di Montezemolo stand – Pavilion 10, Stand L13, offering operators, press, and wine lovers the opportunity to discover its philosophy, style, and identity.

The project stems from a desire to reinterpret Pelaverga , a historic and almost exclusive grape variety from Verduno, known for its spicy, fragrant, and elegant profile. This grape is particularly relevant today, in tune with a more dynamic, informal, and informed approach to wine.

The name FUORICASA draws inspiration from a small "trespass": the vineyard is located in Cherasco , outside the municipality of Verduno traditionally associated with Pelaverga. This minimal distance becomes a narrative cue and suggests, with a light-hearted, ironic tone, the idea of breaking free from a codified space without losing coherence or authenticity. This attitude is also reflected on the label, where an open cage appears, symbolizing a traditional perimeter from which the wine consciously chooses to escape: not to break with history, but to move with greater freedom while remaining faithful to its roots.

Designed for a more contemporary wine experience, FUORICASA stands out for its freshness, immediacy, and great drinkability . Spicy and fruity notes are paired with a dynamic vivacity, while the low alcohol content (less than 13%) makes it easy to drink and versatile. It's a convivial red that can also be served slightly chilled, ideal for informal moments without sacrificing elegance.

In the glass, it presents a bright, pale red. The nose reveals hints of white pepper, juniper, violet, strawberry, and raspberry; on the palate, it is smooth and elegant, with a medium structure and a clean, modern finish. A wine designed to be enjoyed young and to effortlessly accompany contemporary conviviality, even in the warmest months, served at 10–12°C.

With FUORICASA, Cordero di Montezemolo creates a new interpretation of Pelaverga: a wine that speaks the language of the present, without losing its profound connection to the Langhe region.
