CONSORZIO BARBERA D'ASTI E VINI DEL MONFERRATO AT VINITALY: BETWEEN "SINFONIA BARBERA" AND THE START OF THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

The Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium will be present at the next edition of Vinitaly with a program of initiatives designed to enhance the area's winemaking heritage and strengthen the connection between wine, community, and tourism. Among the scheduled events is a conference dedicated to the " Sinfonia Barbera " project, held on Sunday, April 12th from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the institutional area of the Piedmont Region, Pavilion 10, Stand E3 . This initiative brings together some of the area's main events dedicated to Barbera d'Asti.

“ Every year, Vinitaly represents a fundamental moment of discussion and meeting in this delicate moment that the world of wine is going through, ” comments Filippo Mobrici , President of the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium. “ It is a precious opportunity to meet operators, importers and stakeholders from all over the world, but also to talk about the evolution of our denominations and the work that the territory is carrying out to promote them. This year we also return to have a dedicated institutional space, where it will be possible to discover 40 labels from 21 consortium companies , an important moment to present in a choral way the richness and variety of our productions. The “ Sinfonia Barbera ” project was born precisely with the aim of strengthening this shared story: an initiative promoted by the Consortium together with six municipalities in the area which, through various moments of promotion, celebrates Barbera d'Asti and its connection with the landscape, the communities and the local culture. In a context that increasingly recognizes the value of wine tourism, the Consortium wants to become promoter and point of connection between territories, administrations and producers, helping to make this denomination increasingly attractive and recognizable. 2026 is also a particularly significant year because the Consortium celebrates its eightieth anniversary , a milestone we view with pride but above all as a starting point for continuing to strengthen the positioning of Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato wines on international markets .”

The “ Sinfonia Barbera ” project was created with the aim of promoting and coordinating the numerous events dedicated to the Barbera d'Asti denomination, connecting some of the area's most representative municipalities and their historic wine festivals. The Consortium plays a central coordinating role, aiming to harmonize the calendar of events, avoiding overlaps and simultaneously strengthening communication and promotional activities related to the denomination. The calendar will open in Nizza Monferrato with “Nizza è Barbera” (8-9-10-11 May 2026), followed by Montegrosso d'Asti with “Divin Mongröss” (15-16 May 2026). The journey will continue in Castagnole delle Lanze with the “Festa della Barbera” (22-23-24 May 2026) and in Agliano Terme with the “Barbera Fish Festival” (28-29-30-31 May 2026). In June, San Damiano d'Asti will host “La Barbera incontra” (12-13-14 June 2026), while Costigliole d'Asti will close the autumn calendar with “Rosso Barbera” (30-31 October – 1-2 November 2026).

A calendar that, like a true "territorial symphony," takes enthusiasts and visitors on a journey through the Monferrato hills through tastings, meetings, music, and gastronomic experiences, helping to strengthen the area's wine tourism appeal.

The project is also part of the rich program of initiatives planned for 2026 to celebrate the Consortium's 80th anniversary, a significant milestone that will be commemorated through events, institutional initiatives, and promotional activities designed to tell the story and evolution of one of Piedmont's most iconic denominations.

With these initiatives, the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium confirms its commitment to promoting a denomination capable of combining tradition, dynamism, and a strong connection to the territory, while looking to the future with an increasingly international perspective.
