Autochtona Award, 31 are the finalists of the 2021 edition

Tastings were held in Bolzano to select the best native wines that will compete for first place in the ten categories of the award. The proclamation, in live streaming, on Tuesday 19 October during the 18th edition of Autochtona.

After two intense days of tastings, the 31 wines that will compete for the highest step of the Autochtona Award , the prize that enhances the great Italian indigenous heritage, have been identified.

The winners, divided into the ten categories provided for by the award, will be revealed during the live streaming on Tuesday 19 October at 4 pm , directly from Fiera Bolzano, where the 18th edition of Autochtona, the Forum of vines, will take place starting from Monday 18 October. native Italians.

The Autochtona Award jury, which met on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 October, this year was chaired by the well-known critic and journalist Daniele Cernilli (DoctorWine), who at the end of the two days declared: "The technical level of the jury has made my role as president much easier. In reality I felt like a spokesperson and a "primus inter pares" more than anything else. The awards assigned, and which will be communicated only later, seemed credible to me, but many wines were really remarkable in almost all categories ".

In addition to him, the following took part in the tastings, which took place strictly blind, also: Giuseppe Carrus (Gambero Rosso), Fabio Giavedoni (Slow Wine), Andrea Gori (Intravino), Luca De Martini (Vinarius), Christine Mayr (Vitae -AIS), Alessandra Piubello (I Vini di Veronelli), Marco Rossi (Tannico), Leila Salimbeni (Spirito diVino), Alessandro Franceschini (Viniplus di Lombardia) Pierluigi Gorgoni (oenologist and teacher of the Alma school). Together with them, thanks to the collaboration with the ICE Agency , international professionals of the caliber of Richard Baudains (Decanter), Paula Bosch (sommelier, journalist and writer), John Brunton (The Guardian), Anders Levander (DinVinguide) completed the jury ) and Sigi Hiss (Vinum).

The finalist wines will compete for the title of "Best White Wine", "Best Rosé Wine", "Best Red Wine", "Best Bubbles", "Best Sweet Wine", "Best Ancestral Wine", "Best Orange Wine" and, for the Tasting Lagrein category, "Best Lagrein Rosato", "Best Lagrein" and "Best Lagrein Riserva". Important special mentions will also be awarded during the award ceremony: "Terroir Prize" , "Spirito diVino" , "Young Winegrowers Vinarius Prize" and "Tannic Prize" .
