At Vinitaly, Astoria celebrates its first twenty years of commercial presence in Africa. The first contact came in 2006, the year Astoria sponsored the Togo national football team at the World Cup in Germany. However, the first official purchase came from Kenya, which has since been joined by 30 other countries: South Africa, Ivory Coast, and Ghana are the main countries, but the presence is fairly evenly spread.

At Vinitaly, Astoria will open the first of a special 10,000-bottle anniversary edition of Prosecco Superiore.

The toast together with the historical importers and Miss Africa Italy Ngone Gueye , becomes a moment of reflection on the opportunities of the continent for Italian companies, together with the director of the Africa Magazine, Marco Trovato .

As Paolo Polegato, President of Astoria, emphasizes: "Even today, Africa's 'media marginality', which is only discussed in reference to wars or immigration, prevents it from being considered an attractive outlet for the Prosecco market. This translates into little effort, even from an institutional standpoint, while there would be ample room for growth for Italian wine."

The ties between the world of Prosecco and the African continent will also be highlighted by the “string art” work that artist Bara Abdoul Rahim will create throughout the day at the Astoria stand.

No-Lo: the debut of the new Zerotondo in a "light" version

Since 2012, Astoria's offering for the alcohol-free world has been Zerotondo: not a chemically dealcoholized wine, but a must made from unfermented organic grapes. Recognizing that today's consumers are increasingly concerned not only with alcohol but also with calories, Astoria has revised its Zerotondo to create a version with 30% less sugar and 43% fewer calories, while maintaining an intense fruity aroma of grapes and green apple, with notes of citrus and white flowers.
