The association will be present with a group of forty-four companies

Scheduled for Tuesday 8 April is the talk “Wine tourism and artificial intelligence, for a new enjoyment of the territory”.

Appointment at Vinitaly 2025 for the collective of Assovini Sicilia that this year involves forty-four associated companies, gathered in Pavilion 2 of the Verona International Exhibition. The 57th edition of Vinitaly - from 6 to 9 April - confirms itself as a strategic event for Sicilian producers, a unique opportunity to share experiences and skills, meet buyers and stakeholders. The associated companies represent winemaking excellence and the constant commitment to quality production, linked to the territories of belonging and to the different wine production areas: from Etna to the far west, up to the smaller islands, for a total of twenty-three DOC and one DOCG. Not only quality and wine variety, Assovini Sicilia underlines the importance of wine tourism as a driver for the sector with the talk "Wine tourism and artificial intelligence, for a new enjoyment of the territory", dedicated to the world of wine tourism and new technologies such as artificial intelligence. The talk will be an opportunity to explore the introduction of artificial intelligence in the construction of wine tourism itineraries and the consequent possibility of creating referral marketing processes for the product sales strategy. "The world of wine is going through a series of geopolitical and economic changes. Current challenges require reflection and a very specific strategy. Assovini Sicilia, in addition to enhancing and promoting production quality, invests and believes in the enormous potential of wine tourism as a driver of the wine sector and, in general, of the Sicilian economy - says Mariangela Cambria, president of Assovini Sicilia -. Today, wine tourism in Sicily is constantly evolving and changing, and represents an exclusive means of telling the story of the territory and our wine heritage. Sicily is an ideal and unique wine destination because it contains an extraordinary history, a historical-archaeological heritage and a diversity of territories to tell. Wine, with its symbolic and cultural value, proves to be an ambassador of the territory and a privileged tool capable of enclosing stories, producers, territories. Investing in quality wine tourism means having a strategic plan where, alongside the quality of production, there is a welcome that focuses on a diversified offer and the involvement of the entire territory. Only in this way can wine tourism support wine production and our cellars" - continues Mariangela Cambria, president of Assovini Sicilia. The wine production that will be presented at Vinitaly, demonstrates the ability of Sicilian producers to interpret the territory and its vocation, to be in line with new consumption models. According to the report 2024 Cultivating the Future: Sicily of wine tells its story, edited by the University of Messina and involving 81 associated companies, 83% of the cellars produce DOC wines and 18% produce DOCG wines. This highlights the attention of companies in producing quality wines, with a strong anchoring to the territory and tradition, but also the desire to aim for wine excellence in the region. In detail regarding the typology of wines, the data that emerges from the Report is interesting and concerns the production of sparkling wines (55.6%), as well as the percentage of companies (53.7%) that produce dessert wines. Assovini's production is also sustainable with 56.5% of companies having already acquired sustainability certifications and 65% of companies having invested in the use of renewable energy sources.
