ALL SERPRINO!

Volcanic, distinctive, lively: Serprino dei Colli Euganei will be the star of a brand new stand at the 57th edition of Vinitaly (Verona, 6-9 April). The Consorzio dei Colli Euganei is increasingly focusing on the only native wine with a controlled designation of origin from Veneto specialising in the sparkling variety. The public will thus have the opportunity to taste over 40 labels of this product that can be transversal to all consumer groups thanks to its bubbles and notes of apple, pear, peach, which make it ideal both for an aperitif and for a spring or summer dinner.

To publicize the versatility of Serprino, the Consortium will organize two daily tasting sessions at the Vinitaly stand ( Pavilion 5 – Stand E7 ), from Sunday to Tuesday, with an informal and authentic character, which reflect the daily culinary tradition of the Veneto. Thus “Serprino & Tramezzino” (from 12:30 to 14:30) will pair signature tramezzini with the sparkling and spumante versions of Serprino, while “La Merenda dei Colli” (from 16:30 to 18:00) will see the typical Venetian sopressa paired with Serprino Sui Lieviti, a type recently included in the production regulations.

The recent changes to the production regulations, which add the historic bottle-fermented version to the traditional Serprino, will be illustrated on Sunday 6 April at 3.30 pm , as part of the masterclass “I vulcanici veneti” organised by the Veneto Region (Pavilion 4 - D4/E4), by the Consortium's oenologist Daniele Stenico and the journalist and critic Angelo Peretti, with a tasting of the first experimental bottles of Serprino Sui Lieviti .

On the afternoon of Wednesday 9 April , the biodiversity of the Euganean Hills will be presented at the stand of the Consorzio dei Colli Euganei through the gins produced with the botanical varieties of the area, and in particular the Gin Fiore, a Paduan gin based on Fior d'Arancio from the Euganean Hills, mixed in a series of tempting Euganean Gin&Tonics .

Serprino will also be at the center of two relaxed “outside Vinitaly” events in Padua and Verona. On Saturday 5 April , the eve of Vinitaly, the Serprino & Tramezzino format will be offered by some venues in the historic center of Padua . Instead, on the evening of Tuesday 8 April , Serprino dei Colli Euganei will be the protagonist of God Save the Wine , an event scheduled at the Hotel Due Torri, adjacent to the Basilica of Sant'Anastasia, in the historic center of Verona .

Obtained from the grape of the same name, Serprino is one of the riches of the biodiversity of the Euganean Hills, protected as a Regional Park and recently recognized as a UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve , and represents one of the souls of the savoir faire of local winemakers, who over the centuries have perfected the art of producing fine and persistent, versatile sparkling wines, characterized by very fine bubbles.
