A VINTAGE TO YOUR ATTENTION

From Sunday, 7th June, "Un’Annata alla Vostra Attenzione" ("A vintage to Your Attention") takes place again, the traditional event organized by Enoteca Regionale del Barolo, which this year will present to the industry operators and to the general public Barolo 2011, made available by the producers–members taking part and will have as testimonial of exception the enthusiast and expert wine journalist Alessandro Masnaghetti, that last year the Wine Spectator magazine, the most widely read specialized publication in the world, described on the front page as "Italy’s vineyard Master" honouring him in an article inside with a nickname that now more than ever suits him: Mapman.

THE EXHIBITION

The presentation of Barolo 2011 will be inaugurated officially in the morning of Sunday, June 7th at 11 am, at the "Tempio dell’Enoturista" inside the Falletti Castle of Barolo: even this year the ceremony will be coordinated by the journalists Sergio Miravalle and Giancarlo Montaldo, to which the task to do the honours and accompany the present public to the dedication of the vintage to Alessandro Masnaghetti, to the presentation of his recently published book "Barolo MGA: the Encyclopedia of the Great Vineyards of Barolo", and to the time of the tasting of the Barolo Official Selection 2011, led as always by the oenologist Armando Cordero. A fabulous tasting event with dozens of Barolo 2011 will be, then, protagonist in the afternoon and then for the entire following week at the premises of the Enoteca Regionale del Barolo according to the following program (ticket at checkout): – Sunday, June 7th, 2015: from 2:30 to 6:30 pm – from Monday, June 8th to Saturday, June 13th, 2015 (Wednesday closed): from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; the Chairman Scarzello continues: «This year will be particularly interesting to taste the different wines, because it is a vintage of extraordinary elegance. The 2011 Barolo are less strong, but very expressive, the result of a hot summer that has favoured a perfect ripening. The presentation will not disappoint the fans who every year look with curiosity to the fruit of our hills. This year there is also one more reason to appreciate Barolo: since last June, in effect, our vineyards are the fiftieth Italian site included in the List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This is a recognition to the work of generations of winemakers, who have made of excellence a rule»
