PIAVE CHEESE: LAST DAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SCHOOL OF DOP COMPETITION

There is time until April 30 to join the Nice to Eat-EU European campaign initiative which is aimed at 4e classes and focuses on education and creativity.

Up for grabs an interactive multimedia whiteboard and other digital teaching aids.

Very last days to join "School Of Dop". The project, born on the initiative of the European campaign Nice To Eat-EU, conceived to tell the origin, the goodness and the characteristics of Piave PDO cheese to primary school children, will close on 30 April.

"We created this project because we want kids to learn the importance of recognizing Protected Origin products and to become more and more aware of how they are created, their characteristics and how they are disseminated. Involving schools is certainly an effective way to get straight at the heart of our consumers of tomorrow "says Chiara Brandalise, Director of the Protection Consortium

Here are the next steps of the project:

- the classes will have until April 30, 2021 to join

- the deadline for sending the works is extended to 31 May 2021

- the jury will meet by 11 June 2021 to decree the winners

- the award ceremony will be held by 30 September 2021

But let's take a step back: what is the "SCHOOL OF DOP" project launched on 30 September 2020?

THE SCHOOL OF DOP PROJECT

The creative contest, aimed at the little ones of the fourth grade, puts the excellent Italian cheese, the Piave DOP, in the chair, and has as its protagonist its "defender": Captain Piave. Through the adventures of this superhero, children, with the help of teachers, will learn to recognize the protected designations of origin, increase their food culture and become aware of healthy choices.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The competition is national and is aimed at pupils of the 4th grade of primary school in the provinces of Milan, Bolzano, Trento, Trieste, Turin, Bologna, Parma, Rome, Bari, Naples and Florence. Participation is free. Only the first 150 applications received in chronological order will be accepted. A minimum of 1 to a maximum of 4 classes can participate in each school. THE PRODUCTS TO BE PRODUCED

Each participating class will have to create a storyboard of the new adventures of the superhero Captain Piave, today already followed by tens of thousands of children on youtube https://youtu.be/jPJPWmIoL-Y, and then "stage them" by choosing the most expressive typology. appropriate, in relation to the skills of the students and current school programs (comics, research, short story, photo shoot, game). The paper must illustrate, in an original and amusing way, the characteristics that distinguish the Piave PDO and the threats that loom over quality brand products, through the perspective of Captain Piave and the other characters who support him: the Brown Cow, the bad dr. Fake and many others who will be able to invent and animate the stories created by children. Participating classes will receive a free educational kit with insights for teachers as well as a folder for children.

AWARDS AND JURY

Up for grabs as first prize an IWB, an interactive whiteboard, an effective tool to promote a path of innovation in teaching, worth € 1600.00. Second prize a notebook worth € 400.00 and third prize a tablet worth € 300.00. A jury of experts, made up of two representatives of the Consortium for the Protection of Piave Cheese PDO, a press officer and a communication expert will evaluate the entries received.

THE VIDEO LESSONS

To facilitate the classes on this path to discover the excellence of Piave DOP cheese, two very interesting video lessons have been created. Places, colors, information, protagonists and production techniques are told with simplicity, clarity and all the sympathy of Captain Piave and his adventures to save the Brown cow from the clutches of Dr. Fake!
