On April 28th , the Milanese venue in Piazza dei Mestieri (Via Privata Miramare, 15) will host the first city screening of the documentary "Tratti Giappone." This reservation-only event combines auteur cinematic storytelling with excellent education, celebrating the intersection of Japanese culture and the talent of young students.
"Tratti Giappone," a film by Francesco Frank Lotta, Paolo Penni Martelli, and Willy Mulonia , is a visual and emotional journey through the contradictions and allure of the Land of the Rising Sun. After the screening, the authors will engage with the audience to reveal the behind-the-scenes story of a project that explores Japan with a keen and profound eye.
The social hub of the evening will be the aperitif preceding the film screening. This unique moment will see the prestigious Yamamoto Gastronomy collaborate with students from Piazza dei Mestieri , an educational center that welcomes young people of various nationalities and guides them into the workforce through vocational training programs, where learning a trade becomes a tool for social empowerment.
For the young people of the Piazza—many of them second-generation young people who have found a path to success through professional training—this evening represents an extraordinary opportunity. Working alongside high-level professionals to serve an authentic Japanese aperitivo means putting into practice the skills acquired during their training, participating in a process of real integration , where "craft" becomes a universal language, and ultimately enhancing the intercultural mix that makes Piazza dei Mestieri a laboratory of active citizenship in the heart of Milan.
"Seeing our students collaborate with an organization like Gastronomia Yamamoto speaks volumes about our mission," says Guido Mangiaracina, coordinator of Piazza dei Mestieri's training activities. "Here, talent knows no bounds, and professional training becomes the driving force behind building the future of Milan's new citizens."
The event costs €25 per person, which includes the screening, a Japanese aperitif, and your first drink. Proceeds will support the evening's activities and Piazza dei Mestieri's educational projects.
