Forlimpopoli, home of Artusi, for 9 days is the capital of Italian gastronomic culture: Artusian Festival 24/06 - 02/07

Nine days with the "beautiful and the good" and solidarity . From 24 June to 2 July Forlimpopoli , the birthplace of Pellegrino Artusi, is transformed into the capital of Italian gastronomic culture with the XXVII edition of the Festa Artusiana . Dedicated to the father of Italian cuisine, the Festa offers about eighty appointments including meetings, cultural events, reflections on food, guided tastings, show cooking, shows and much more.

To enrich the festival more than thirty typical restaurants located in the streets and squares of the center, to which are added about twenty stands of associations and twin cities, together with another twenty producers always of the typical in the market area.

The leitmotif of the nine days is the gastronomic culture with a view to a strong solidarity imprint with the agri-food world, in the aftermath of the flood that severely hit Romagna, because as Carlo Petrini (Artusi Prize 2016) said, " solidarity passes even for food ”.

In fact, in Piazza Garibaldi and in via Saffi, between the stands and the kitchens of the associations (cultural and category) and of the cities (Romagna and twinned), there will also be the kitchens of some associations particularly involved in the emergency phase (such as the Protezione Civil and the section of the Alpine Association of Forlimpopoli) and a kitchen made available by the municipal administration to restaurants that are temporarily closed due to the flood but who wish to give a sign of their presence and willingness to leave as soon as possible.

Casa Artusi, between Unesco and aperitifs at the court

There are many centers of gravity for the Festival, starting with Casa Artusi, a center of gastronomic culture that enhances the work of the father of Italian home cooking. Saturday 24 June (5.30 pm), a large conference on ' Italian cuisine and the Unesco candidacy' , in the presence of the greatest scholars of national gastronomic culture, welcomes the Festival. At the center of the day were the themes of biodiversity and sustainability, the two cornerstones of the candidacy of Italian cuisine for UNESCO intangible heritage, an initiative that also involves Forlimpopoli.

Also at Casa Artusi every day at 19.00 the Aperitifs at the Court of Casa Artusi return, together with narrators of stories, products and projects. It starts on Sunday 25 June with Luca Cesari, one of the greatest historians of pizza, author of the book Storia della piazza da Napoli a Hollywwod . Following a themed tasting accompanied by a fundraiser to support the reconstruction of O Fiore Mio Hub in Faenza hit by the flood. Monday 26 is the turn of Graziano Pozzetto with his Tonino Guerra, food and childhood. We continue to eat mother's dishes, Tuesday 27 ' Communicating Artusi today' with the launch of the new Casa Artusi website and the opening of the new multifunctional space on via Costa. Marietta, amateur cooks and Honorem

The birthplace of Artusi pays homage to today's Mariettes. Men or women it makes no difference, the important thing is to be amateur cooks animated by the sacred fire for the stove. All this is the Marietta Award, the national competition promoted by the Municipality of Forlimpopoli, in collaboration with Casa Artusi and the Mariette Association, dedicated to the famous housekeeper of the gastronome, Marietta Sabbatini.
