Some journeys begin with a departure. And then there are those that begin with a land. This idea is the inspiration behind the 51st edition of Vinestate, the historic event dedicated to the wine and culture of Sannio, scheduled for September 3–6, 2026, in Torrecuso, in the province of Benevento. This far-sighted edition has chosen as its theme "Sannio on the road to the America's Cup Naples 2027." From VinEstate, and therefore from Torrecuso, a journey toward Naples and the great international sailing event ideally begins. A journey that unites the Sannio hills with the sea, tradition with vision, wine with the ability to imagine new opportunities for the region. The America's Cup thus becomes not only the symbol of one of the most important international sporting competitions, but also an opportunity to showcase a Campania capable of enhancing its own identities while also opening up to the world. The theme chosen by the Vinestate Committee is part of a broader regional initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between wine, the sea, and tourism, including through the "Wine, Sea, and Tourism" format presented at Vinitaly 2026. In this context, Sannio can play a leading role, thanks to a deeply rooted culture of vines and wine and a heritage of landscapes, villages, production, history, and community. For four days, Torrecuso will become a meeting point between vineyards and the sea, flavors and culture, tradition and the future. The program will symbolically follow the route of the America's Cup: Thursday, September 3rd will be dedicated to Ineos Britannia, Friday the 4th to Team New Zealand, Saturday the 5th to Team Australia, and Sunday the 6th to Luna Rossa. The highlight will be on Saturday, September 5th at 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of Palazzo Caracciolo Cito, with the conference "Vinestate 2026 – Sannio on the road to the America's Cup Naples 2027." The meeting will feature representatives from European, regional, and local institutions, the winemaking community, universities, and the America's Cup. Speakers include Angelino Iannella, Mayor of Torrecuso; Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Tourism; Christophe Hansen, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development; Roberto Fico, President of the Campania Region; Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of Naples; Maria Carmela Serluca, Campania Regional Councilor for Agriculture; Pellegrino Mastella, Regional Councilor of Campania; Marzio Perrelli, CEO of the America's Cup; Ettore Varricchio, professor at the University of Sannio; Carmine Coletta, President of the Consorzio del Sannio Tutela Vini; and Maurizio Fontanelle, President of the Pro-Loco Pieve Castionese di Belluno. Alongside the institutional discussions, Vinestate will offer a rich calendar of events: tastings of wines from participating wineries paired with local cuisine, guided tours, cooking demonstrations, exhibitions, music, literature, workshops, and initiatives for both adults and children. Among the most anticipated events is the second edition of the Torrecuso "Vite e Viti Meravigliose" Award, dedicated to individuals who have distinguished themselves for their human and professional merit and who, through their work, have contributed to the growth of the community and the region. Closing the event, on the night of Sunday, September 6th, will be one of VinEstate's most evocative and distinctive events: the traditional "Incendio del Castello," with Palazzo Caracciolo Cito transformed into a spectacular backdrop for the grand finale. The 51st edition of VinEstate presents itself as a new stage in a journey that begins in the hills of Sannio and looks toward the sea, all the way to Naples and the 2027 America's Cup. A journey in which wine becomes an ambassador for the region, tradition becomes a capacity for innovation, and a major international event becomes an opportunity to bring the richness, culture, and extraordinary diversity of Campania to the world. The route is set. Torrecuso is ready to set sail. Sannio wine looks to the future, and it does so from Torrecuso. The complete program of the event can be found on the official 'Vinestate Torrecuso' page.
