VALENTINE'S DAY 2026 WITH THE UMBRIA WINE TOURISM MOVEMENT

In Umbria , Valentine 's Day isn't just a celebration, but a symbol deeply rooted in the history and identity of the region. It is here, in Terni to be precise, that the remains of the patron saint of lovers rest, making the region a natural place to celebrate love in all its forms.

For Valentine's Day 2026, the Umbria Wine Tourism Movement invites couples, enthusiasts, and visitors to experience this holiday through the language of wine, hospitality, and conviviality. Among the hills, villages, and vineyards, Umbrian wineries open their doors with a rich program of experiences designed to transform a simple weekend into a moment to share and remember.

" Through these initiatives ," explains Giovanni Dubini, President of MTV Umbria, " we want to invite visitors to discover, or rediscover, the Umbrian landscapes, local products, and the atmosphere of our cellars. It's a simple and enjoyable way to experience wine and local traditions, making Valentine's Day an opportunity to experience Umbria authentically and consciously ."

In Colle Umberto, the Carini Farm welcomes lovers on Saturday, February 14th, with a winery tour followed by a guided tasting. After a welcome glass of sparkling wine, guests will discover the Poggio Canneto Bianco and Oscano Rosso, accompanied by a generous platter of Cinta Senese cured meats, cheeses, crostini, traditional Umbrian bread, and torta al testo. The experience is rounded out with a tasting of "Colle delle Macine" extra virgin olive oil and a tasting of Lumia VT passito wine paired with artisanal chocolates, for a sweet finale.

Nestled in the San Venanzo countryside, Fattoria di Monticello is offering a Valentine's Day weekend package that combines hospitality, a winery tour, and a tasting. The highlight of the experience is a romantic dinner in the company restaurant, where the chefs create a refined seafood menu designed to showcase the quality of the ingredients and create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

In the hills of Gualdo Cattaneo, Terre della Custodia invites guests to experience a day dedicated to discovering their wines through three different tour and tasting options. From the shortest tour to the more extensive tour with food pairings, each option is designed to showcase the identity of Sagrantino and the other cultivated varietals, offering a complete experience from vineyard to cellar to table.

In Pila, Cantina Goretti is dedicating an exclusive Valentine's Day event titled "Affinity & Contrast," a couples' tasting showcasing five select wines paired with carefully selected food pairings to highlight their unique characteristics. This sensory journey becomes a metaphor for the balance between similarities and differences, just like in any love story, enhanced by a tour of the winery and the Goretti family's story.

In the heart of Montefalco, La Veneranda celebrates Valentine's Day with "Innamorati del Sagrantino," an experience featuring a special dessert paired with Sagrantino Passito DOCG and a tasting dedicated to couples. The restaurant stays open until late, allowing guests to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the village and surrounding vineyards.

In Montegabbione, in the evocative setting of Montegiove Castle , Tenuta di Montegiove is offering a tour on February 13th and 14th that combines a visit to the cellar, a tasting of four wines, and a pairing dish. Each couple will also receive a free magnum of rosé, transforming the experience into a memory to cherish forever.

In Todi, Cantina Roccafiore welcomes guests with a guided tour of the production and aging rooms, followed by lunch at the Fiorfiore restaurant. The tasting menu, inspired by contemporary Umbrian cuisine, is paired with a selection of four estate wines. For those wishing to extend their stay, the experience can be complemented with wellness programs and treatments at the resort's spa.

On the shores of Lake Trasimeno, the Madrevite Winery is dedicating two days to the "Madrevite Love Weekend," an event designed to celebrate love in all its forms. In Agello, Cantina Libera Lepre —in collaboration with Centumbrie—is organizing a dinner with a special menu and wine pairing, combining gastronomic creativity and local identity in an event designed for those who want to experience Valentine's Day in an original way.

In Montefalco, Perticaia offers a unique journey that brings together wine and chocolate in a four-act tale. From Trebbiano Spoletino to Sagrantino Passito, each glass is paired with select ingredients such as pure cocoa, hazelnuts, chili pepper, and orange peel, creating an intense, elegant, and unconventional experience.

At the Saio winery in Assisi, from February 13th to 15th, guests can enjoy a whole weekend among vineyards, evocative views, and moments of relaxation, with the unique backdrop of the city of Assisi. Guided tastings, extra virgin olive oil samplings, aperitifs and lunches inspired by local traditions, scenic walks among the vine rows, and picnics on the veranda overlooking the vineyards are available.

Cantina Chiorri , in the Colli Perugini area, finally offers a sensory experience in the cellar with a visit and tasting of Frà, an ancestral brut nature sparkling wine aged in barrels, and Vero Amore wines, a white and red passito, paired with cheeses, crudités, and desserts.
