Born in Veneto, the event dedicated to wines produced from grapes grown in unknown and geographically inaccessible areas where viticulture is a challenge becomes itinerant. The "extreme" wine , the one produced with grapes grown in unknown, geographically inaccessible areas, in tiny plots of land torn from the mountains or the sea. Extreme, like the arduous and tiring conditions in which winemakers are forced to raise the vines, in a daily confrontation with a difficult nature that requires sacrifice, wisdom and experience.
“Vini da Terre Estreme” is a unique event, which debuted in Veneto ten years ago to pay homage to the “tenacity” of these wines and the heroism of their men. An initiative created to enhance and make known to the world of consumers and professionals the unique and extraordinary results that arise from the peculiarities of these conditions: because this encounter-clash with nature often gives rise to rare products, wines that are sometimes rough but always strong character and personality. And with many stories, feelings and humanity contained in every bottle. Today this event gathers the same challenging spirit of the wines it celebrates and has become itinerant, touching the city of Rome at the Grand Hotel Palatino in collaboration with Andrea Petrini Slow Food Rome and FISAR Rome on the next 25 and 26 February.
After the stages of Matera and Treviso , Vini da Terre Estreme decided to pay homage to the "eternal city", one of the most attractive in the country, and one of the main centers for trade and national and international tourism. Always cosmopolitan, due to its history and the richness of its traditions, Rome is the ideal stage for presenting and making known the fruit of agriculture with centuries-old origins and history, handed down from generation to generation: the "heroic wines", extraordinary wines , unique, as opposed to the copycat wines that rage in every corner of the planet. Not to mention that in Lazio, since the ancient Romans knew the techniques for vine cultivation and winemaking, native vines still survive, today recovered by small wineries that can rightly be defined as "heroic".
