TIRAMISÙ WORLD CUP, AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER THE TREVIGIANA REGION AMONG ART, NATURE, HILLS, AND FLAVORS

  • 07/10/2026

From the city of Treviso to the Prosecco Hills, passing through Venetian villas, villages, trails along the Sile River, and sites of the Great War: Fondazione Marca Treviso offers a selection of itineraries to experience the area during the event dedicated to the city's symbolic dessert.

Spoonful by spoonful, the Tiramisu World Cup brings competitors, enthusiasts, and visitors from around the world to Treviso from October 9th to 11th . This event celebrates one of the most iconic desserts in Italian tradition and also offers an opportunity to discover the cultural, landscape, and food and wine heritage of the Treviso area.

During the competition, the region offers numerous opportunities to transform a visit into a broader experience, including art cities, nature trails, historic villages, vineyard-covered hills, and iconic sites of Venetian culture. With the arrival of October, amid the autumnal hues that color the landscape and a climate ideal for outdoor activities, the destination reveals itself at its most evocative.

" The Tiramisu World Cup represents an extraordinary opportunity to introduce visitors to the many souls of the Marca Trevigiana ", says Giulia Casagrande, president of the DMO Marca Treviso Foundation . Tiramisu is now one of the most well-known and beloved desserts in the world, a true symbol of Italian excellence, capable of conveying our gastronomic culture far beyond national borders. And it is precisely in Treviso, a city to which its history is deeply intertwined, that this event was born, with the aim of celebrating not only one of the most iconic Made in Italy desserts, but also the region that preserves its origins. Those who come here to attend the competitions can seize the opportunity to discover a destination rich in charm, with cities of art, unique landscapes, excellent food and wine, and a widespread network of authentic experiences. That's why we wanted to offer those who come for the event something more than a list of places to see: a calendar of experiences, created together with those who live and share the region every day. From the walls of Treviso to the Sile River, from the Venetian villas to the UNESCO World Heritage hills, the Marca Trevigiana offers an extraordinary heritage .

For those who want to delve deeper into the connection between Treviso and the birth of the famous dessert, a tour dedicated to the iconic locations of tiramisu is available. Starting from Piazza dei Signori, the route passes through Via Barberia, Piazza Borsa, San Nicolò, Piazza Duomo and the Buranelli neighborhoods, revealing the various versions of the recipe's origins and the history of the so-called "legitimate tiramisu." The experience concludes with a tasting dedicated to Treviso's most famous traditional dessert.

Slow tourism enthusiasts can explore the city's connection to water by taking a guided bike tour through the historic center, the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path, and the Sile Park. This itinerary explores how moats, historic railways, rivers, and mills have contributed to the area's development over the centuries, alternating urban and natural landscapes all the way to the source of the Sile.

Still in the saddle, another option takes you along the ancient river towpath, following the route once taken by the large burci (traditional barges) that transported goods to Venice. The ride passes through the Fiera port, past washhouses and mills, and reaches the evocative Burci Cemetery in Casier, where the remains of ancient boats still emerge from the water, immersed in the vegetation.

For those who want to combine culture and food and wine, the countryside just a few kilometers from Treviso offers guided tours of a historic Venetian residence still immersed in its own vineyards. The tour leads through monumental gardens, historic rooms, and ancient cellars, allowing you to learn about a centuries-old winemaking tradition and conclude the experience with a tasting of local wines paired with traditional local products.

These proposals represent just some of the experiences available during the Tiramisu World Cup and offer visitors the opportunity to experience the Treviso area from different perspectives: from places linked to the history of tiramisu to routes along the Sile River, from bike rides through nature to the food and wine excellences preserved in the area's villas and countryside.
