THE "GRIGNOLINO: THE NOBLE REBEL" EVENT IS BACK ON STAGE IN GRAZZANO BADOGLIO

The Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) Piedmont, in synergy with the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium, the Colline del Monferrato Casalese Consortium, the Association of Producers of Grignolino d'Asti Doc and Piemonte Doc Grignolino, and the Association Monferace is thrilled to announce the event "GRIGNOLINO: THE NOBLE REBEL" , 2024 edition. This initiative will be held from 15 to 17 March at the suggestive municipal location of Grazzano Badoglio , in via IV Novembre 15, the beating heart of Grignolino. These are days of great excitement among the organizers for an event "which once again intends to offer an immersive experience in the world of Grignolino by describing its numerous facets, the territories and the winemaking and maturation techniques that characterize it. Our intent is to unite all the realities that act as ambassadors of this indomitable vine, giving life to an event capable of becoming a real point of reference for those who want to delve deeper into the stories of this noble rebel of the Piedmontese wine scene". During the event, the producers of the Asti and Monferrato Casalese areas, thanks to the expert direction of the AIS delegations of Asti and Casale Monferrato, will offer sector operators, professionals and enthusiasts a program full of events, including tasting stands and a dedicated masterclass, which will be held on March 15th at h. 3.00 pm in the upper room of the Bagatto restaurant in Grazzano Badoglio, in collaboration with all the Consortia and Associations and conducted by the regional Ais President Mauro Carosso. "The genesis of the event - explains Paolo Poncino, AIS delegate from Asti - dates back to two years ago, fueled by the ambition to dedicate an event entirely to Grignolino, exploring and highlighting its various peculiarities. The intent is to outline and delve into the distinctive characteristics between Grignolino from the two main production areas, the Asti area and the Monferrato area of Casale. We are happy to note that the event will see the participation of the vast majority of Grignolino producers. The choice of this vine, which has almost into oblivion, is driven by the belief that it is important to promote a unified image, rather than fragmented through small entities, to give it back the luster it deserves and reveal its intrinsic value". Not only technical tastings will characterize the event. Sunday 17 March, in fact, thanks to the involvement of Jazz Refound, an organization that offers musical events, the public will be able to take part in an unmissable musical aperitif. Another novelty this year is the dinner scheduled for March 15th at the Bandini restaurant in Portacomaro which, with the collaboration of the Barbera and Barbere Association, will be aimed at exploring innovative gastronomic combinations accompanied by Grignolino. To enrich the three days there will also be the presence of a guest wine: Freisa, 2022 vintage, whose grape variety shares part of its DNA with Grignolino. Hence the idea of making it a travel companion thanks to the support of the Più Freisa Association. A further welcome return for this edition will be the presence of the Gran Monferrato Consortium, partner of the event, which will be present with delicious products from the Monferrato land to accompany the wines
