The Consortium will participate in " Wine in Venice ", which returns for its second edition in the rooms of the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, from 20 to 23 January. Precisely on the 23rd, from 10.30am to 5pm, the Garda DOC will be the protagonist of a Walk Around Tasting curated by Ascovilo , a special tasting dedicated to the excellent wines of the Lombardy DOCs.
“The Lombardy of wine is represented at WIV2024 by our Consortia - underlines Giovanna Prandini , President of Ascovilo and vice-president of DOC Garda - always attentive to supporting valuable initiatives that combine the beauty of our artistic and cultural heritage with the goodness and quality of the wine which is an expression of culture and tradition. Ascovilo unites as many as 13 Protection Consortia in association that want to work together and defend protected designations of origin with choral actions, which have never been more necessary than today".
On January 24th at 8.30 pm at the Novotel Brescia, a Masterclass is scheduled, organized in collaboration with the ONAV Brescia delegation, entitled " Garda DOC: a unique territory, where the stories of people are intertwined with stories of terroir ". “This is certainly another occasion that renews the denomination's commitment to promoting Garda DOC wines. - underlines Paolo Fiorini, President of the Consortium - Telling the story of the lake and the excellence of the territory has the aim of making the denomination increasingly known and spreading awareness among consumers and enthusiasts of the richness of this wine-growing territory with unique landscape characteristics, protected from the mountains and overlooking the largest basin in Italy". This appointment is the first of a series of activities that determine the Consortium's intention to carry forward the synergy with the local associations, ONAV, precisely, AIS and Fisar.
On February 26th in Monaco, three special masterclasses are scheduled - one dedicated to Reds, one to Whites and one to Riesling, Passito and Sparkling Wines - created in collaboration with the Swiss magazine Vinum , moderated by the journalist and wine expert Claudia Stern. Germany plays a strategic role for the Garda DOC Consortium, representing the first reference market for the export of the denomination's wines and one of the markets that most reward Lake Garda as a summer tourist destination. “Many German consumers are passionate visitors to the area and reward Garda DOC wines both for their quality and for the connected experiential tourism - concludes the President of the Garda DOC Consortium Paolo Fiorini - therefore we continuously provide useful opportunities for dissemination given the importance of a 'appropriate information, alongside those who, especially in the summer period, love to discover the denomination, the cellars and our varied territory".
