The Carignano Trails , a new wine tourism itinerary to be experienced on foot along the Santa Barbara Mining Trail in south-western Sardinia (Sulcis), presented just over a month ago, are coming to the Merano Wine Festival for the first time with a Masterclass dedicated to the Carignano del Sulcis wine , scheduled for Sunday 9 November from 1.30pm to 2.30pm in Room 30 of the Hotel Terme di Merano (Piazza Terme, 1).
The Masterclass, entitled Immersed in the vineyards of Carignano del Sulcis: between sea, sun and sand , will be led by Giuseppe Carrus , deputy curator of the Guida Vini d'Italia, and will offer the public a sensory journey through one of the most authentic and fascinating wine-growing areas of Sardinia.
During the tasting, wines from eight leading local wineries will be presented: Cantina Santadi, Mesa, Sardus Pater, Giba, Eural Sulcis, Piede Franco, Calasetta, and Esu .
The event marks the first official participation of the Sentieri del Carignano at the Merano Wine Festival , just over a month after the launch of the itinerary in Sardinia. The project was born to promote, through walking and at a slow pace, ungrafted viticulture, the coastal and mining landscapes of Sulcis, and the intersection of culture, history, and winemaking tradition.
The Masterclass is open to Merano Wine Festival participants, but places are limited. Journalists wishing to participate must register by sending an email to eventi@gheusis.com.
