THE BLACK ROOSTER: AN EMBLEM TO DISCOVER

Tuscany is full of stories and symbols that enrich its culture and traditions. One above all the Black Rooster , the witness of a legend that sees the two rival Republics of Siena and Florence as protagonists: at the crowing of the cock, the two factions left their respective cities and their meeting point would have marked the border. Now, however, meeting is not repulsive, but it is unifying and art combines all external and internal stimuli and traditions and creates beauty.

On Saturday 26 August 2023 at 18:00 , Castello di Meleto, Gaiole in Chianti (SI) , opens its doors to the vernissage of the new exhibition "The Rooster between Symbol and Legend" , where works by local and international contemporary artists welcome visitors. This is the third appointment of the Meleto Arte project, born in collaboration with the Sienese artist Elena Conti.

The Black Rooster means territory, wine and cultural traditions and will be the focal point of this event. It will be an exhibition centered on the artist Renato Ferretti and his characteristic works, from paintings to sculptures to painted fabrics. Turi Alescio, Stefano Azzi, Franco Carletti, Elena Conti, Ilaria Di Meo, Enzo Gambelli, Carol Marano, Paola Parri and Sarah Wheeler will exhibit together with Ferretti. Suggestions of identity and emotional vibrations are the recurring elements and differently declined in the various guest works of the Castle.

The exhibition "The Rooster between Symbol and Legend" will be open to the public from Saturday 26 August 2023 until Monday 2 October 2023, from 10 to 18 and admission is free. The exhibition will be inaugurated with the vernissage at the Enoteca di Castello di Meleto which will be followed by dinner
