The Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium presents its calendar of promotional activities planned for the first few months of 2026. This program combines participation in major national events with local initiatives, aiming to raise awareness of the protected denominations and strengthen the connection between wine production, local communities, and areas of origin.
"The 2026 calendar is the result of planning efforts that focus on structured and coherent promotion," says Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium . " Presence at nationally important events like the Turin Wine Fair, as well as the organization of events throughout the region, reflects our desire to create concrete opportunities for meeting and discussion. These are key moments for promoting the denominations, the work of the producers, and the expressive variety of Monferrato, while also strengthening ties with local communities and the gastronomic excellence that complement the story of our wines ."
The first event on the program is the Turin Wine Fair, scheduled for February 28th to March 2nd, 2026. The Consortium will be present with an institutional tasting stand and an in-depth masterclass, tools designed to comprehensively explain the identity of the appellations and their position within the Piedmontese wine scene.
This will be followed on Sunday 8 March 2026 by the event “ Cavatore between prized black truffles and Piemonte doc Albarossa ”, scheduled in Cavatore (AL) , organised by the Municipality of Cavatore in collaboration with the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium, the Piedmont Region, Golosaria, Alexala and the Monferrato Truffle Hunters Association.
The initiative will take place at the “ Casa Felicità ” and the “Casa Scuti” Municipal Hall and will be entirely dedicated to the promotion of Albarossa, a Piedmont DOC grape variety born from a cross between Barbera and Nebbiolo, capable of producing wines of structure, intensity and good evolutionary capacity in the Monferrato area.
The day's program will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room with a round table discussion entitled "The Fine Black Truffle of Monferrato and Piemonte DOC Albarossa: a Love Marriage ," a moment of discussion dedicated to the dialogue between viticulture, the local territory, and local gastronomic excellence.
At 11.00 am, the masterclass “Let’s get to know Piemonte DOC Albarossa” will follow , led by Paolo Massobrio, journalist and founder of Golosaria , designed to explore the characteristics, identity and expressive potential of the denomination.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. and throughout the event, a tasting stand, managed by sommeliers, will be open at the "Casa Felicità" offering the public the opportunity to taste a selection of Piemonte DOC Albarossa wines produced by the Consortium's member wineries.
With its 2026 events calendar, the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium confirms its role in protecting and promoting the denomination, promoting structured and shared knowledge of the region through promotional and information activities.
