" In light of the important growth recorded by Pellegrini at the end of 2019, which marked a 15%, the historic distributor has chosen to enrich the portfolio with Tenuta Sette Cieli, for its different and personal expression of the Bolgheri area. An entrance fifteen years after the first vintage of 2005 and twenty-two since the foundation of the winery in 1998 by the will of Erika Ratti , daughter of the Como textile entrepreneur Antonio Ratti, famous for the silks of fine workmanship. Erika inherits from her father the love for beauty that transfuses into the dream of a wine-growing reality in Tuscany, conceived during a trip in which she is fascinated by the hills of Castagneto Carducci. After Erika's untimely death, her son Ambrogio takes the reins of the estate deciding to buy new land. Today Sette Cieli has 120 hectares of land of which 10 hectares of vineyards at 400 m asl in Monteverdi Marittimo (Pisa) and 5 in the Bolgheri Doc . The oenological management is entrusted to Elena Pozzolini , Tuscan by birth and with long experience in the field, gained in Italy and abroad, between California, Australia and Argentina. Elena's personal imprint in the Sette Cieli wines is reflected in the main wine making choices, such as the organic regime in the vineyard, the manual harvest and the separate vinification of each parcel, so as to allow the enhancement of the different nuances of each vineyard. “We strongly believe in the identity of a territory and consequently of a wine. Hence our choice to work with indigenous yeasts ”, these are Elena's words on the style adopted for fermentation. Tenuta Sette Cieli produces around 90,000 bottles a year . The labels are four and all from international varieties: Indigo from Malbec grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; Scipio made entirely with cabernet franc; We 4 from cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc; finally, Yantra produced with cabernet sauvignon and merlot grapes.
