BETWEEN TASTINGS, ARTISTIC MEETINGS AND MASTERCLASSES, THE CONSORZIO BARBERA D'ASTI E VINI DEL MONFERRATO CELEBRATES WINE IN ALL ITS SHADES

The Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium invites enthusiasts and professionals in the sector to a spring adventure in the heart of one of the most beautiful areas in Italy, recognized as a UNESCO heritage site. The journey begins with an important event scheduled for the end of March, leading to the heart of spring with tastings and moments of discovery of the renowned denominations protected by the Barbera d'Asti and Vini del Monferrato Consortium. The first unmissable stop on this ideal journey will be in Milan, at the Hotel Meliá, for the Golosaria Wine & Food Piemonte which will be held on 25 March 2024 . An exclusive event planned for the 2024 edition as it is entirely dedicated to Piedmont during which, from 10.30am to 8.00pm, operators present at the event will have the opportunity to explore the best of the region's most prestigious agri-food products. Visitors will also be able to taste the Consortium's wines through the presence of numerous local producers, participate in three dedicated masterclasses - including one on Barbera d'Asti, one on Ruchè and one on Monferrato reds - and discover the wine-pairing food in the elegant Lounge Area. "For us, Golosaria represents an essential event – says Vitaliano Maccario, President of the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortiumwhich symbolizes and embodies the continuity of our collaboration which we renew every year with this important event. This edition is of interest to us special, since it offers a complete representation of our territory, extending its charm beyond regional borders. This always remains our goal: to be able to bring the essence of our territory and our wines throughout the rest of Italy." April will instead open its doors to art with the first edition of the event "Ruchè Preview: a unique encounter between wine and art" which will take place on 9 April in Turin , at the Spazio Musa. A unique opportunity that promises an unmissable experience for journalists and operators in the food and wine sector with the aim of discovering the essence of the latest Ruchè vintage, between blind tastings and the exploration of works of art inspired by wine. The central moment of the event will be the live performance of an artistic work inspired by Ruchè, which aims to become the icon of the May celebration. To add a unique touch, talented caricaturists will bring their creations to life using Ruchè wine as a canvas, giving attendees a memorable experience. Furthermore, the exclusive collaboration with the Gorgonzola consortium will enrich the occasion, offering an exquisite selection that will enhance the tasting of the wines. The month will end with a focus dedicated to the Freisa grape. In fact, on 22 April , thanks to the Più Freisa Association , a masterclass held by the journalist Gianni Fabrizio dedicated to Horeca professionals and journalists will be organized at the Consortium headquarters in Costigliole d'Asti. A tasting table will precede during which over twenty producers will present their Freisa wines to sector operators to discover the characteristics and peculiarities of the prized Piedmontese vine. A tasting stand of old vintages will also be organized in order to analyze the evolution of the vine over time to discover its potential in terms of longevity.
