SOLIDARITY DISTILLATION 2020 THE CELLARS DEVOLVE THEIR WINES TO PRODUCE SANITIZING SPRAY TO DONATE TO CIVIL PROTECTION

The 2020 harvest has begun in Veneto and with some wineries of the Marca Trevigiana , sensitized by the Veneto Region, the Province of Treviso and helped by the Roberto Castagner distillery, we have decided to mobilize and network, allocating part of our pomace for free for the production of alcohol-based sanitizing spray in order to donate it to the Civil Protection of Veneto.

The months of the Covid19 health emergency have in fact highlighted how Italy, which covers just 1% of European production, importing 85% of its needs, is exposed to the difficulty of finding alcohol for hospitals and Civil Protection.

Veneto, the first Italian wine region in addition to highlighting the spirit of solidarity of the supply chain, which feels the need to give its own contribution to the community in a time of great difficulty, also develops the concept of circular economy in which the marc, a by-product of grape processing, it becomes a precious raw material for a noble gesture.
