The Serprino Festival returns, the summer event dedicated to Serprino, the volcanic native sparkling wine of the Euganean Hills. From June 20th to July 6th , numerous events will offer a variety of opportunities for entertainment and conviviality. The festival will bring the area to life, including some exceptional sites in Padua and its province, including Villa Giovannelli Colonna in Noventa Padovana, Catajo Castle in Due Carrare, Villa Sceriman in Vò, and the Museo Nazionale Atestino in Este. There will also be meetings at the wineries of the Euganean Hills, offering a complete experience of wine, art, and landscape. The initiative is organized by the Consortium for the Protection of Colli Euganei Wines in collaboration with the Padua Chamber of Commerce and Venicepromex .
New this year is the collaboration with Veneto Segreto , the association that promotes the lesser-known and more hidden facets of the Veneto region. The public will be accompanied on guided tours and exclusive experiences to discover some of the region's treasures. All events will conclude with a convivial toast.
The preview event will be held on Thursday, June 18th at Cantina La Mincana (Due Carrare, Padua) with the presentation of “La regola del silenzio,” the new book by Oscar Farinetti , a perfect combination of literature and wine.
On Saturday, June 20th (from 4 pm to 10 pm) , Praglia Abbey (Teolo, Padua) will host the festival's inauguration with Vulcanico Serprino , a free tasting featuring several wineries, a food corner, live music, and a cooking demonstration by Chef Andrea Cesaro. Numerous events are scheduled, including the magical evening on Friday, June 26th at the Villa Bassi Rathgeb Museum in Abano Terme. The event, organized in collaboration with and supported by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Colli Euganei, will combine art and wine with a guided tour of the exhibition "Alfred Eisenstaedt. Photography was in the Air" and, concluding, a tasting of Serprino.
Another special event will be dedicated to archaeology. On Friday, July 3rd, at 7:30 pm , Serprino bubbles will accompany visitors as they explore the Museo Nazionale Atestino during the event "Museo DiVino," which explores the millennia-old connection between wine and the Euganean Hills. The Museum's Director, Dr. Benedetta Prosdocimi, will open its doors outside of regular visiting hours and lead a guided tour on the theme "Wine between Ancient Venetians and Romans ," a journey through the Museum's archaeological finds, which demonstrate how this beverage has been known and appreciated since ancient times.
