Costigliole d'Asti is preparing to host, starting Friday, October 31st , a new edition of Rosso Barbera , the event dedicated to the great Piedmontese grape and its finest exponents. Everything is ready for the official inauguration , which will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in Costigliole Castle , in the presence of Italian and international dignitaries and guests.
Promoted by the Municipality of Costigliole d'Asti with the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests and the Piedmont Region , in collaboration with the Barbera d'Asti and Monferrato Wines Consortium , the “Noi di Costigliole” Producers Association and the Langhe Monferrato Roero Tourism Board , Rosso Barbera will offer four days of tastings, masterclasses, meetings and in-depth opportunities dedicated to the symbolic grape variety of Piedmont.
Participants expected include the regional councilor for Agriculture, Tourism and Trade Paolo Bongioanni , the economic and commercial advisor of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Milan, Geng Xiewei , together with a delegation from the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy led by vice president Xin Shanwen and secretary general Wang Hong .
"Everything is ready for a weekend celebrating Costigliole d'Asti, the world capital of Barbera," said Mayor Enrico Alessandro Cavallero , "bringing together wine, culture, and hospitality on an international stage."
The inauguration will be broadcast by Mediaset networks, which will produce a report on Rosso Barbera , while on Saturday the Piedmont Regional News Agency on RAI3 will dedicate its Travelling News programme to the event, with links and reports from Costigliole.
Reservations for the scheduled tastings and events have already been incredibly popular: some sessions are sold out , while others are just a few spots away . Organizers encourage advance reservations to avoid waiting, and remember that access to the tasting area will still be possible without a reservation.
