From wine to culture, maintaining a connection with the local area: Le Fraghe inaugurates "Paths of Freedom. The Courage to Become Protagonists ," a new event scheduled for July in Cavaion Veronese. Two meetings, open to the public, will highlight the stories of women who have chosen to forge their own paths: from the mountains as a threshold to be overcome to work as a space for autonomy and growth.
The event was founded by Matilde Poggi , a winemaker since 1984 and a key figure in the Bardolino DOC. She thus expanded her hospitality and outreach activities to the local area, combining winemaking with opportunities for gatherings dedicated to highlighting women's experiences. In a landscape encompassing Lake Garda, Monte Baldo, and the Valdadige, the company courtyard and tasting room become spaces for dialogue open to the community.
The first meeting, Thursday, July 2nd at 6:30 pm , will be dedicated to Beyond the Darkness , a documentary project by Nadia Bredice, born in 1988, Italian paraclimbing champion and world vice-champion in Seoul in 2025. During the meeting, the teaser for the documentary , in production for summer 2026, will be presented, along with the personal and project history from which the film was born. The evening will also be an opportunity to illustrate the crowdfunding campaign launched to support the production of the full documentary.
"The thread that unites these events is freedom, interpreted through real choices: climbing a rock face, giving shape to a project, conquering space in one's work, imagining a future different from the one expected," says Matilde Poggi . "It's a theme that I also feel is close to my own story: I began making wine from my family's grapes in 1984, immediately choosing an independent path, tied to the territory and far from trends."
The second meeting, on Thursday, July 16th at 6:30 pm , will feature Giacinta Cavagna di Gualdana , author of A Million Stairs. The Girls of La Rinascente (Neri Pozza), an art historian and professor at the University of Milan. The novel traces the history of La Rinascente from the late 19th century to 1957: Bice, Eleonora, and Cristina—grandmother, mother, and daughter—span three generations and a changing Italy, finding in their work at the famous Milanese department store a concrete opportunity for personal emancipation.
The meetings are free, but reservations are recommended . At the end of each meeting, there will be a toast with the company's rosé wines, a true expression of the Garda area. For information and reservations: 045 7236832 – 348 6055139.
