«Italian New Year all over the world: Prosecco will certainly be the most uncorked sparkling wine at midnight on December 31st, excluding France, Belgium and some other French-speaking countries. Sales are growing all over the world, especially ours, but what is growing above all is the image of our flagship sparkling wine which owes its fortune to its quality, its appearance, its adaptability to any course, from sushi to lobster, from Genoese pesto to cacio e pepe, from pizza to barbecue, to roasts and obviously to fruit and desserts." This was stated by Sandro Bottega, owner of Bottega SpA , the Venetian wine company from Bibano (Treviso) which exports Prosecco to 150 countries around the world, and creator of the "Prosecco Bars" which are becoming popular all over the world. «But not only that - continues Bottega - even Spritz, which has always been based on Prosecco, has been imitated by some champagnes which have produced a "French" version: however, it is difficult to surpass whoever invented it. So the Italian producers who have built this success with tenacity, made of effort and passion, and who have made it possible to create a unique product that can only be grown here, especially in the province of Treviso, where the land hills with steep slopes and the temperate climate (hot in summer and cold in winter) allow the plants to develop antibodies responsible for the most refined perfumes that can compete at the highest levels", concludes Sandro Bottega, owner of Bottega SpA
