Musical under the stars: "Shrek: The Ogre Who Saved Fairy Tales" is being performed at Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano.

On Thursday 30th July Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano will host Musical Under the Stars , a program that combines Maremma's food and wine traditions with social commitment. The initiative, promoted in conjunction with the Tuttiateatro APS Association of Grosseto , will showcase the value of inclusion through the magic of theater.

The evening's star will be the musical "Shrek," inspired by the famous story of the green ogre and staged by young actors from the Grosseto community, who have been at the forefront for years in promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity through the expressive power of the stage and the collaborative work of young people with and without disabilities. With this event, Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano renews its support for Tuttiateatro , actively supporting its projects and sharing its principles. This commitment demonstrates the cooperative's desire to establish itself not only as a leading local winemaker but also as a place open to the community and culture , capable of promoting initiatives of high social value. The collaboration between the winery and the association is a long-standing one: Tuttiateatro was the protagonist of the 2024 edition of the Roggiano Morellino di Scansano DOCG solidarity label . Every year, the cooperative works with a local social organization to create a limited edition of bottles, the proceeds of which go to fund charitable projects.

"We are delighted to once again host the talented actors of Tuttiateatro in our spaces ," says Benedetto Grechi , President of Cantina Vignaioli Morellino di Scansano . " Two years ago, the company staged Hercules – The Musical , and today they return with a new, exciting production. The association's vision is the same as our cooperative's: joining forces means going further and ensuring our voices are heard loud and clear, even to those sitting at the back of the audience."

The evening dedicated to Shrek will begin at 7:30 pm with a guided tour of the winery , followed by a food and wine tasting featuring the cooperative's wines paired with local Maremma specialties . At 9:30 pm, the winery courtyard will transform into an open-air theater, ready to welcome the public and the actors.

The participation fee is €25 for adults, €15 for children aged 6 to 17, and free for children under 5. Reservations are required, and seating is limited.
