Morellino tasting in Verona – Saturday 1 April 2023 at 6.30pm

Waiting for the 55th edition of Vinitaly, we will have the opportunity to taste a selection of Morellino di Scansano DOCG and to be able to grasp its peculiarities in a welcoming setting in the city center of Verona.

THE NAME AND THE CONSORTIUM FOR THE PROTECTION OF MORELLINO DI SCANSANO

Recognized as a controlled denomination of origin in 1978 , Morellino di Scansano has recently celebrated its first 40 years. In this period, much has been done to enhance its value, by virtue of its intrinsic qualities and growing international reputation, so as to obtain the Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin in 2006 , starting from the 2007 harvest.

Active in this work of promotion and protection is the Consorzio Tutela Morellino di Scansano , born in 1992 by the will of a small group of producers. Over the years the Consortium has gradually expanded the membership sector, to the point of welcoming more than 200 members , over 90 of whom have at least one of their own Morellino di Scansano labels on the market .
