The next evening of Morellino del Cuore 2023 will be held on Wednesday 12 July, a project dedicated to ten labels selected by a jury of expert wine tasters.
The third stage of Morellino del Cuore will be at the Canapone restaurant, one of the most historic places in the city, where the journalist Antonio Stelli, a profound connoisseur of the area, together with some producers will present the area and the labels to the participants, which will be paired with delicious sea.
The theme of this first edition of Morellino del Cuore is "Morellino also in summer" which, served at a lower temperature, can be combined not only with typical Tuscan dishes but also with fish and vegetable dishes, demonstrating the versatility of a wine in which the Sangiovese expresses tannins that are never too muscular and more tending towards softness, characteristics that go well with even fresher serving gradations.
The director of the Morellino di Scansano Protection Consortium, Alessio Durazzi, will also take part in the evening.
The ten Morellino del Cuore 2023 - the list below - were selected by six well-known names in the world of wine: Antonio Boco, Andrea Gori, Riccardo Margheri, Richard Baudains, Stefania Vinciguerra and William Pregentelli, collaborators of some of the most important guides and trade magazines .
For the Morellino Vintage section
For the "Intermediate" section , which is placed between the Vintage and the Riserva, coming out on the market after the Vintage but not completing the same refinement process as the Riserva

Morellino del Cuore is a project conceived by journalists Antonio Stelli and Roberta Perna in synergy with the Consorzio di Tutela Morellino di Scansano , designed to make known to an ever wider public a wine that tells of a land, the Maremma, in which sea, hills and mountains create a unique habitat for Sangiovese, the symbolic vine of the Morellino di Scansano Docg.

Morellino di Scansano DOCG
Morellino di Scansano, which became a DOCG wine starting from the 2007 harvest, is produced throughout the Municipality of Scansano and part of the Municipalities of Campagnatico, Grosseto, Magliano in Toscana, Manciano, Roccalbegna and Semproniano. The claimed hectares of vineyards are approximately 1500, of which 35% are certified organic. To be regulated, it can contain a minimum of 85% of Sangiovese grapes and a maximum of 15% of other grapes of black berried vines permitted in the Tuscany Region. The Consorzio Tutela Morellino di Scansano currently has 220 members
