A tribute to matter, time and transformation. On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, Tommasi – a historic wine family and ambassador of Amarone della Valpolicella in the world – presents an unprecedented collaboration that combines design, fashion and the culture of the circular economy.
This is how “Arele” was born, a one-of-a-kind chaise longue, the result of the meeting between Winetage – an atelier specialized in the creative upcycling of wine barrels – and the fashion brand Luca Faloni , a point of reference for sustainable and timeless luxury.
Made with the staves of disused barrels from the Tommasi winery, Arele is much more than a piece of furniture: it is a poetic gesture of rebirth. Wood marked by time, soaked in wine and memory, which regenerates in a new form, becoming a symbol of contemporary and conscious elegance. The clean and sophisticated design of the chaise longue dialogues with the fine fabrics of Luca Faloni's Spring Summer collection, in a sensorial narration that evokes the nuances of wine and extends its story beyond the bottle.
The absolute preview of the project was held on March 28, 2025 in the suggestive Magnifica barrel cellar of Tommasi in Pedemonte (VR), in an event reserved for the press. Between architecture, tastings and storytelling, journalists were able to live an immersive experience in the places where the great reds of Valpolicella Classica are born.
This new collaboration marks a further chapter in the creative dialogue between Tommasi and Winetage, which began in 2024 with the project “ Ripasso 30 – Back to the Classic ”, hosted in the Milanese showroom of the dSEGNI concept store during the Milan Wine Week. A shared path made of design sensitivity, aesthetic vision and respect for the material, which today is enriched with new meanings.
During Milan Design Week 2025 , the Arele chaise longue will be the protagonist inside the dSEGNI concept store ( Via dei Bossi 2 ), from 7 to 13 April : an exhibition space that transforms into a creative hub, where fashion, sustainability and design dialogue in a choral story.
A project that celebrates the excellence of Made in Italy, strengthening the bond between wine and designer design. An invitation to reflect on the value of transformation, on the culture of beauty and on a new way of inhabiting matter.
