Magical Spring Weavings at Strassoldo di Sopra Castle.

For 26 years the Castle of Strassoldo di Sopra , in the heart of the pretty village of Strassoldo among the most beautiful villages in Italy in Friuli Venezia Giulia, has opened to the public twice a year, in spring and autumn, to welcome and showcase dozens of highly selected artisans, nurserymen and small agricultural producers from all over Italy . One of the enchanting aspects of these initiatives is the possibility of admiring the gardens in all their splendor , both in autumn and spring (in April, nature will have just awakened from its winter hibernation and flowers such as hellebores, tulips, muscari, daffodils , hyacinths and anemones will delicately color them) and to exceptionally also visit the interiors of the castle , which is privately owned.

“Magical Spring Weavings” will be held from 12 to 14 April . Over 115 exhibitors will present unique, high-quality and environmentally friendly artisan creations in an explosion of emotions, shapes and colors. Every corner of the castle and its gardens will be the setting for the exhibition of objects for the home and garden, tailored clothes, high-end jewellery, bags of all kinds, lamps, shoes, art objects, antique furniture and paintings, wire work, shabby chic furnishings, cosmetics, perfumes, phytotherapeutic products, dried organic fruit and vegetables, scented soy candles, sculptures and much more. Even gourmets will be able to satisfy their palates in the four refreshment points and at the stands with sweet and savory food and wine delicacies . The ancient orchard, surrounded by crystal clear waterways, will host nurserymen with particular plants. The event is passionately curated by Gabriella Williams from Strassoldo, owner of the castle, who has been organizing these events for 26 years with the aim of enhancing the arts and crafts, an important historical site and its territory.

The complex will be splendidly decorated with spring decorations to welcome visitors, and an imaginary magic thread will guide them to discover the new creations of the exhibitors and the places of the manor, crossing the ancient halls of the main palace, the gardens of the armigers, the park , the rice mill, the vegetable garden and the stationery. The Garden of Emotions of the twin and contemporary Castle of Strassoldo di Sotto will also host educational workshops and will be the prelude to guided tours of its historic park .

To enrich the days, pleasant collateral initiatives , including external guided tours of the village of Strassoldo and the small church of S. Maria in Vineis, conversations on gardening, educational workshops for adults and children, the exhibition of ornamental chickens curated by the Association Friulana Avicoltori and the educational stand of the FVG Pascul regional forestry nursery specialized in the production of native or naturalized species of local origin.

Useful information • Well-behaved dogs, kept on a leash and provided with bags, are welcome. • The event will also take place in case of rain, so it is advisable to wear comfortable and waterproof shoes. • "Magical Autumn Weavings" will be held on 11-13 October 2024.
