The Librandi winery, with its Segno Librandi Cirò Rosso Classico DOC , has been selected to represent Calabria at Casa Italia during the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, joining the group of 26 outstanding wineries chosen to showcase Italy on one of the most important international stages. The selection, curated by the LT Wine & Food Advisory team on behalf of CONI , aims to highlight the native grape varieties of the Bel Paese.
Following its experience at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Librandi thus confirms a path of continuity that rewards the company's work in promoting Calabrian viticulture and its historic grape varieties.
The wine selected for this edition is a flagship wine of the Cirò appellation and the culmination of three generations of the Librandi family's work in this region. Segno Librandi Cirò Rosso Classico DOC is made from 100% Gaglioppo grapes , a grape variety that is a hallmark of Calabria. It is the result of a deep understanding of the Cirò DOC, where the Librandis boast four estates, decades of collaboration with the finest local winemakers, and meticulous winemaking processes, separated by subzone . The goal is to create an authentic, distinctive, and instantly recognizable expression of the terroir.
A wine that represents, in its name and style, the "mark" left by Librandi on the history of Calabrian viticulture.
"Being present at Casa Italia again is a source of great pride for us," declares the Librandi family . "It means continuing to tell the story of our Calabria through a wine born from an ancient history and a deep connection to the territory. Segno Librandi is the expression of our work on Cirò: a wine that speaks of identity, knowledge, and responsibility, values we are happy to share in an international context like the Olympics."
For Milan-Cortina 2026, Casa Italia will be spread across multiple locations— Milan, Cortina, and Livigno —with the heart of the project hosted in Milan, in the iconic spaces of the Triennale , a symbol of Italian culture and design. Casa Italia's culinary offerings will be curated by chef Davide Oldani , contributing to a collaborative narrative of Italian excellence that unites cuisine, wine, sport, and culture.
The presence of this wine at Casa Italia strengthens the company's role as an ambassador for the Calabrian region , capable of incorporating its winemaking culture into a global narrative, where wine becomes a tool for dialogue, belonging, and vision.
With this new participation, Librandi renews its commitment to representing Italian winemaking excellence in an international context, helping to portray an Italy that welcomes the world through its most authentic excellences.
