The Torriano Room

The Sala del Torriano, 75 hectares of which 34 are vineyards, is owned by Francesco Rossi Ferrini, who has been using Stefano Di Blasi's consultancy since 2010. La Sala del Torriano's agronomist and enologist is Ovidio Mugnaini, with a more than interesting professional background and a great knowledge of the territory in which he works and the vineyards he takes care of. In La Sala del Torriano the stories of two first separate cellars intertwine and now, instead, part of a single project: the Sala, in the Sorripa locality and the Torriano in Montefiridolfi, historical company of the maternal family of Francesco Rossi Ferrini who bought it in 1937.

Since 2010 the Torriano, 22 hectares of vineyards that grow on the hills of Montefiridolfi, is managed by Francesco who, with the acquisition of La Sala a few kilometers from the family business, has expanded the property, which today can count on a total of 75 hectares consisting of woods, 3000 olive trees and vineyards. Of the 34 hectares planted with vines, over 80% is planted with Sangiovese grapes while the remaining 20% sees both international vines, namely Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and native varieties such as Colorino and Pugnitello. The production sees 4 red wines, namely Chianti Classico Annata, Chianti Classico Riserva, Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and Rosso di Toscana Igt 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the Chianti Classico Dop Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

The company is very attentive to nature and its care and from 2020 it uses the organic certification . He works every day respecting not only the regulations of biological realities but going well beyond, minimizing the use of plastic, using mainly electricity from renewable sources, respecting the soil and working it only when necessary, using two weather stations that minimize the use of pesticides permitted in organic farming and using organic manure. The bond with art is also close, with which the company wanted to create synergy with some of its wines. And this is how the label of the Gran Selezione, of the Grappa and of the Vin Santo make use of the prestigious signature of the Tuscan artist Silvano Campeggi, aka "Nano" (Florence 1923 - 2018), author of all the billboards of the great American cinema in Italy including, to name a few, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Ben Hur, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind.

La Sala del Torriano is also an agritourism. In Montefiridolfi, on the splendid hills overlooking the valley, you can stay in 4 Tuscan-style apartments and enjoy the peace that these places can offer.
