Invitation to the "Drinking Territory" Literary Competition Awards Ceremony, Grinzane Cavour, Saturday 23 September

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Awards Ceremony of the twenty-second edition of the National Literary Competition "Drinking the territory", promoted by the Go Wine association, which will be held on Saturday 23 September at 5.30 pm in the Sala delle Maschere of the Castle of Grinzane Cavour.

On this occasion we will have as a guest Ugo Nespolo , designer, artist and writer, who will receive the "Il Maestro di Bere il Territorio" award .

In the presence of the Jury of the Literary Competition, the winners of the various sections of the Competition will also be awarded prizes.

A special prize will be awarded to Alessandro Masnaghetti , for the important work carried out over many years in favor of the drafting of maps of the great Italian wine territories.

A second special prize will be awarded to the “L'Anello Forte” association for the project promoted by 14 women working in the vineyards and cellars of Monforte d'Alba.

An award aimed at companies in the wine sector that have distinguished themselves for having safeguarded the territorial heritage with a view to valorising the landscape, with the use of the natural environment, aimed at stimulating cultural, tourist, social and economic development. All according to sustainability principles, in compliance with fair and "green" development models.

The National Literary Competition “Drinking the Territory”

Promoted by Go Wine, a national association of wine consumers and tourists, the Competition intends to contribute in a concrete way to increasing the culture of consumption of quality wines, aiming at an increasingly aware consumer both in making choices and in attributing the right value and meaning to a bottle of wine. The announcement of the twenty-second edition invites participants to ideally become travellers. The proposed theme concerns the journey to a wine territory, recounting an experience, enhancing the themes that are dear to every wine tourist.

Drinking the territory... to attribute added value to each quality wine. Highlighting, through the glass, the culture and environment in which that wine is established. A way to reaffirm with conviction that wine belongs to the history and rural culture of Italy.

The inclusion of a special prize is confirmed in favor of a book , published during the year 2022, which has wine as its theme or which, in any case, reserves special attention to wine.

From this edition, a special award is given to companies in the wine sector that have distinguished themselves for having safeguarded the territorial heritage from a sustainability perspective in compliance with fair and "green" development models.
