From June 3rd to 5th, Lake Garda will once again be the stage for Garda Wine Stories, the press tour promoted by the Garda DOC Consortium for national and international press. Following its success at Vinitaly, the appellation is relaunching its positioning with three days of meetings, tastings, and in-depth discussions designed to explore the identity, innovation, and future prospects of the Garda DOC.
The heart of the program will be the technical conference scheduled for Thursday, June 4th at the Dogana Veneta in Lazise, entitled "Garda DOC: Growth Strategies and Perception in International Markets. Low Alcohol, Versatility, and New Consumer Trends," featuring experts and representatives from leading publications in the target markets.
"Addressing the topic of low-alcohol wines today means clearly interpreting the evolution of international demand, understanding new consumption patterns, and anticipating the changes affecting the global wine market," states Paolo Fiorini, President of the Garda DOC Consortium. "More and more consumers are seeking versatile, contemporary products consistent with a more conscious approach to drinking, without sacrificing quality and territorial identity. In this scenario, the Consortium's role is to lead the change with responsibility and strategic vision. As a Consortium, we were the first denomination to include this type of product in its production specifications: a pioneering decision that demonstrates the Garda DOC's desire to innovate, offering new opportunities to producers and concrete responses to the markets, while remaining firmly anchored to its values, its recognizability, and its connection to the territory."
The discussion will begin with an analysis of the appellation's performance and continue with dedicated focus on major foreign markets, such as the United Kingdom and Germany, thanks to contributions from authoritative international observers. This will be a concrete opportunity to explore new consumption scenarios, commercial opportunities, and growth drivers for the Garda DOC.
Alongside its technical content, Garda Wine Stories confirms its experiential focus with immersive experiences in the area. On the afternoon of Thursday, June 4th, Rocca di Lonato (BS) will host a walk-around tasting with the appellation's wineries inside the Casa del Podestà. The final day, Friday, June 5th, will be dedicated to sensory innovation, with a masterclass led by Consortium President Paolo Fiorini, Sissi Baratella, winemaker and Vinitaly Ambassador Garda DOC, and Dario Boschetto, trainer and freediver, for an immersive experience combining wine, breathing, and sensory perception.
Garda Wine Stories thus confirms its position as one of the central tools of the Garda DOC Consortium's communications strategy: a format capable of combining data, relationships, and the local area to consolidate the denomination's positioning on Italian and international markets, while also enhancing Lake Garda's landscape and production heritage.
The activities are part of the European project Euchronicles Eccellenze DOP: un savoir-faire à tout Europe, a promotional initiative dedicated to the valorization of European agri-food excellence, with the aim of strengthening awareness of the denominations among operators and consumers.
