In 13000 to know the Passiti and Meditation wines

A three-day event entirely dedicated to “sweet drinking” that attracted 13,000 visitors from all over Italy to learn about the many nuances of passito and meditation wines. This is the outcome of the 21st Exhibition of Passiti and Meditation Wines of Volta Mantovana, held from 25 to 27 April.

The event, strongly supported by the Municipal Administration, registered great interest for the producers present, sold out tastings and the participation of all the authorities of the territory. The format this year was able to renew itself thanks to the collaboration with ONAV - National Organization of Wine Tasters, which took care of the selection of the wineries, the masterclasses and the service, La Strada dei Vini e Sapori Mantovani, which promoted the beauty of the territory and offered food and wine pairing tastings, and the Club Amici del Sigaro Toscano, which allowed to discover unusual pairings. The event was also chosen to inaugurate "L'Olimpo dei Vini Lombardi", the new project to enhance Lombard enology in view of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics.

During the three days, visitors, who crowded the Palazzo Gonzaga in Volta Mantovana, discovered over 100 labels of Passiti and Meditation wines at the tasting table, guided by ONAV Tasters, and met 40 producers present in person. Hungary was the guest of honor, thanks to the collaboration with the Consulate General of Hungary and the Hungarian Wine Promotion Agency, which allowed the participation of six producers of Tokaji, the symbolic wine of the Magyar people. The Exhibition also hosted an exceptional event: Château d'Yquem the legend , presentation of the book by the author Cinzia Benzi.

Finally, the Coldiretti Farmers' Market welcomed local producers who told and let people taste the many flavors of Mantua. The Exhibition is therefore confirmed not only as a showcase for the best passito and meditation wines of Italy, but also as a stage for the tourist, cultural and food and wine promotion of Volta Mantovana and, more generally, of the province of Mantua, in an increasingly international context.

A result possible thanks to the collaboration between the Municipal Administration, Pro Loco Voltese and entities such as Colline Moreniche del Garda, Coldiretti Mantova and Radio Pico, in addition to the support of all the sponsors and the precious commitment of the volunteers.
