Among hills, endless landscapes, and the scents of the countryside, the Oltrepò Pavese transforms into a vast map of taste. This is where La Genisia's "Km0 Treasure Hunt" comes to life, allowing sports enthusiasts, as well as lovers of fine wine and food, to explore the hills surrounding the Codevilla winery by e-bike , not in search of gold coins, but of the treasures of the local agricultural supply chain .
Pedal after pedal, participants will discover the stops on a gastronomic itinerary that unites local producers and farmers: from vegetables and typical products from the community gardens to saffron, from cheeses and cured meats from Varzi, from locally sourced meats to traditional almond pastries. Each stop is a meeting, each producer a discovery, each tasting a genuine connection with the Oltrepò countryside. More than a race, it's a true experience : a new and sustainable way to meet those who cultivate, process, and preserve local quality, transforming a simple pedal into a food and wine adventure.
A project that fully reflects the vision of La Genisia , a young winemaking company that, since its inception, has worked to enhance the territory through the attention that its 20 winegrower members pay to the care of their vineyards, among the most suitable in the Western Oltrepò.
The experience can be booked on the website (https://lagenisia.com/wine-experience/caccia-al-tesoro-a-km-0) every Saturday and Sunday until the end of June for a minimum of 2 people.
" The 'Km0 Treasure Hunt '," emphasizes La Genisia President Matteo Ghiara , " is born from a clear objective: to invite people to rediscover the value of the short supply chain and reconnect with nature and the people who cultivate it every day. Choosing local, genuine products means supporting an agricultural system that protects the landscape, preserves traditions, and keeps the bond between community and territory alive, transforming the daily act of purchasing into a narrative and sensorial experience ."
The journey begins at the La Genisia winery. Here, guests are welcomed for a short tour of the winery, including a visit to the historic wine tower. The tour introduces the history and production philosophy of the winery, culminating in a first guided tasting of a La Genisia Classese DOCG.
After the visit, guests set off on e-bikes along a scenic route through some of the area's most scenic spots. The route is followed via a dedicated app, which guides participants step by step, transforming the journey into a true gastronomic treasure hunt .
During the tour, participants will stop at various local shops and artisan businesses. At each stop , they will receive a package containing locally sourced ingredients to prepare a dinner for two . Locally grown vegetables, meats from local farms, cured meats made by local butchers, and other specialties become the "treasures" to be collected along the way.
The experience also includes a lunch break in typical local restaurants , included in the tour, to offer guests a further opportunity to discover the local gastronomic tradition.
Upon returning to the winery, guests receive traditional local recipes, using the ingredients collected along the way. The experience concludes with a tasting of a La Genisia Classese DOCG and a bottle specially designed to pair with the menu to prepare at home.
