An analysis is needed regarding safety in the workplace , certifications , sustainability , innovation and the inclusion of women in the forest sector . This is a theme dear to the EU, also in consideration of the new Community forestry strategy that looks to 2030. It is in this context that the ERASMUS FOREST project is part, in which Veneto Agriculture also participates, which in recent days has seen the various partners meet (online), with coordination of work in Slovenia in Novo Mesto, to take stock of the progress of the activities.
On the occasion, a public conference was held during which each partner presented an overview of the certifications and qualifications existing at national level, outlining both the legislative and training aspects and highlighting the critical issues in terms of standardization compared to other European countries. This is a painstaking work if you consider that the meeting was attended by forestry technicians and trainers from 5 European countries (Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria) active in the partner organizations of the FOREST Project.
The partners have also started the elaboration of a " Manual for the standardization of the skills of forestry operators ", which will collect all the good practices that emerged during the progress of the project. The paper includes a comparative examination between active forestry training among the five partner countries, highlighting the strengths and gaps, as well as a series of suggestions for reaching a European standardization of training for forestry operators .
