DoloViniMiti, the vertical wine festival from October 1st to 4th in the Cembra and Fiemme Valleys.

When the green of summer begins to give way to the first coppery hues of autumn, which light up the woods and vineyards with warm shades, it is time for DoloViniMiti , the vertical wine festival organised by the Val di Cembra Tourist Association with the support of ApT Fiemme Cembra, scheduled from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th October .

A four-day event that invites you to discover the Cembra Valley , eastern Trentino, its territory and its wine products, its stories and traditions, enriched by forays into the nearby Val di Fiemme , with the Dolomites as a backdrop for trekking and tastings, and by contaminations and comparisons with other territories .

After exploring the concept of heroic viticulture, for its fourth edition the festival turns the spotlight on one of the elements that best describe this landscape: dry stone walls , whose construction technique is a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. It does so with an opening conference that will encompass numerous Italian regions—from the Cembra Valley to Etna, passing through Chianti and the Amalfi Coast—united by the uniqueness of their landscapes and the path to protection and enhancement initiated through national and international recognitions such as GIAHS (FAO), PRIS (Rural Landscapes of Historical Interest), and UNESCO. These regions, with their extraordinary wines, will be the focus of a dedicated tasting the following day.

After all , dry stone walls are one of the emblems of the Cembra Valley : 700 kilometers , equal to the distance between Rome and Vienna, supporting 700 hectares of terraced vineyards planted with Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Kerner, and Schiava, a historic grape variety of this area. These wines —hence the name of the event—are defined as vertical precisely because they grow on a complex terroir, with plots of land that slope up to 40%, but also because they are characterized by a longevity guaranteed by the distinctive acidity of the grapes and the savory flavor provided by the predominantly porphyry soils found here.

But the Cembra Valley is also known for its grappa . And there's even an event dedicated to this traditional spirit: " Spiriti in scena " (Spirits on Stage) is an original dinner show at the distillery , organized in collaboration with the Trentino Grappa Protection Institute. It's interspersed with theatrical sketches that humorously recount this fascinating world and some real-life stories related to its smuggling, which in the post-World War II period was an important resource for families' survival.

Art, performance, and tastings also intertwine in an evening in the village of Faver , where the Miscele d'Aria theater company will lead the audience in a traveling show – glass in hand – through narrow streets, squares, and porticoes to discover together the murals and frescoes that have begun to color the small village with life since 2024.

The Wine Trekking Gourmet is a must-see, a five-kilometer walk interspersed with refined gourmet stops at the characteristic mountain huts of the Cembra Valley where you can taste the delights of local chefs coordinated by the Michelin-starred Alessandro Gilmozzi and the wines of the Cembra Valley suggested by AIS sommeliers.

While on the subject of walks, there's also the traditional Dolomite Trekking in the nearby Val di Fiemme, with tastings of local cheeses paired with Cembran wines to admire the beauty of the Dolomites up close in the crisp early autumn air.

And then there are e-bike and curling experiences, a tribute to the sporting soul of the valley that gave birth to pink jerseys and Olympic medals that have entered the history and hearts of Italians.
