DiVinNosiola 2024 kicks off: dinners, tastings and events in Valle dei Laghi with the winemakers of Vino Santo Trenno

Vino Santo Trentino, a Slow Food presidium, is the fruit of the work of those who believe that it is still necessary to wait for the right time for good things. Those that tell of shared knowledge, past memories and present passions. A wine that is the result of collective work and ancient traditions; among these the Rite of Pressing: one of the most symbolically important moments, which takes place on the occasion of Holy Week and which marks the transition from the drying of the Nosiola grapes on the "arèle", to the vinification of the Vino Santo Trentino. The event, in its fourteenth edition, has become one of the most important events in the Valle dei Laghi and was created to rediscover some traits of the cultural heritage of the area and above all of its food and wine tradition, which is inextricably linked to the production of Nosiola wine and Vino Santo, two different styles of winemaking of a single grape variety: Nosiola.

There is no better place than a laid table to enjoy and learn the stories that hide behind a bottle of wine. A unique opportunity to enjoy the combination of food and wine, an informal and friendly atmosphere dedicated to anyone: connoisseurs, enthusiasts and those who simply want to spend an evening in company celebrating good wine.

In the restaurants of the Valle dei Laghi and in those of the Chefs of the Slow Food Alliance of Trentino Alto Adige, the particular attention this month is all for the Nosiola from the Valle dei Laghi, at the center of pairings with the dishes specially proposed on the menu. In its different interpretations it is offered by the glass and there is the possibility of tasting the Vino Santo Trentino, a Slow Food Presidium, by the glass.

Taste laboratory: “The versatility of Nosiola”

On the occasion of Bio-logica Trento (at Trento Expo) a moment of training and growth is planned to discover the food system, combining the theoretical and cultural part with the direct experience of tasting and the involvement of one's senses. The laboratory is created by Slow Food Trentino Alto Adige Südtirol

THURSDAY 21 MARCH

6.30 pm - Palazzo Roccabruna, Trento

Passion Passito

A fascinating journey through the history, aromas and flavors of Vino Santo Trentino. A unique opportunity to taste six historic vintages of this delicious nectar of the gods, one for each winery that produces it. An encounter with an exceptional and exclusive meditation wine obtained from Nosiola grapes, an absolute expression of an ancient viticultural and oenological tradition of the Valle dei Laghi.

The tasting is conducted by Maestro André Senoner, best Sommelier in Italy 2022 for VinoWay Academy.

FRIDAY 22 MARCH

5.30 pm - Casa Caveau del Vino Santo Trentino, Padergnone

“Intrepid. Stories of women, wine and freedom” with Laura Donadoni

Presentation of the book from the asSaggi Slow Wine series with the author Laura Donadoni, writer, journalist and wine educator, who talks with Clementina Balter, winemaker and President of the Trentino Winemakers Consortium.

A collection of twelve stories of bold women who in various capacities belong to the world of wine. What the protagonists of this choral book have in common is a positive restlessness, the desire to change things and the courage to face difficulties head-on. Followed by a tasting of Vino Santo Trentino Doc.

8.30 pm - Pisoni winery, Pergolese

“In Vino Veritas. The sommelier doesn't rest on Sundays, he decants" by and with Lucio Gardin

The theater goes to the cellar! And where? In the drying room which, after having dried the Nosiola grapes on the "arele" awaiting pressing, is transformed into a theater and hosts a show dedicated to wine and its most sparkling and cheerful characteristics. It is not just any show, but rather a comical food and wine tasting seasoned with healthy irony and genuine flavours, where a glass of wine with multiple aromas and many years of history will give an exhilarating experience in which Nosiola wine as its protagonist, both Santo and no.

At the end of the show in the Azienda Agricola F.lli Pisoni there will be a tasting of some Nosiola produced by the winemakers of the Valle dei Laghi.

SATURDAY 23 MARCH

from 11.00 to 14.30 - Antica Distilleria Lorenzin di Giovanni Poli, S. Messere

GustoDiVino, a journey through Nosiola wines and the Vino Santo della Valle dei Laghi and Trentino cuisine

The winemakers of the Valle dei Laghi offer a new taste experience by pairing six wines with as many typical recipes in collaboration with six taverns selected in the Trentino valleys and created by Paolo Betti, chef of the Slow Food Alliance. The versatility of Nosiola meets the richness of the Trentino gastronomic culture and the imagination of the chefs. This special emotional tasting is conducted by Laura Donadoni, writer, journalist and wine educator, who guides a journey through time where personal memories made of flavors and emotions mix with the cultural and winemaking traditions of which the winemakers are custodians.

SUNDAY 24 MARCH

from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm - Castel Toblino, Madruzzo

Stories of Lives

Visit to the cellars and basements of the Castle to discover the mysterious stories that animated it, among which the most famous is the one that links the Prince Bishop Carlo Emanuele Madruzzo to Claudia Particella, his young lover. The event is an opportunity to appreciate the rooms of the castle and to taste the Nosiola wines of the Valle dei Laghi together with the producers.

Guided tours of the S. Messere hydroelectric power plant

A fascinating journey to discover the wonders preserved by the Santa Messere power plant, the most powerful plant in Trentino. A surprising experience, through new paths, in which water becomes clean energy, starting from the source in the heart of the mountain.

Along the Nosiola Ethnographic Trail

Evocative circular walk to discover the cultivations of this native variety intertwined with the history and traditions of the Valle dei Laghi, with a final stop at the Casa Caveau del Vino Santo wine museum. To welcome the participants, the rite of sprinkling, a secular popular tradition in which the eyes are bathed with drops of Nosiola as a good luck gesture for the departing agricultural season.

The Road to DiVinNosiola

The Trentino Wine and Flavor Route celebrates the only native white grape variety of the area with a precious series of events from Valsugana to Alto Garda, from Vallagarina to Trento.

An invitation to discover the magic of Nosiola in all its nuances, including guided tastings and visits to the cellar, taste experiences and themed dinners with the producers.
