CONSORZIO BARBERA D'ASTI E VINI DEL MONFERRATO PRESENTS A RICH CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL

On Saturday 12 April 2025, the first edition of the event “ A wine, a territory ” will be held in the evocative Salone del Mercato in Montegrosso d'Asti . Organized by the COLLI ASTIANI Producers Association with the aim of promoting and enhancing the production area of Barbera d'Asti docg Superiore sub-zone Colli Astiani, which refers to the municipalities of Mongardino, Vigliano, Montegrosso, Montaldo Scarampi, Rocca d'Arazzo, Azzano, Isola and the hamlets of Asti of San Marzanotto and Montemarzo.

" Our initiatives are the voice of a territory that has been able to build an internationally recognized model of excellence over time, combining respect for its roots with the ability to look beyond borders ," said Consortium President Vitaliano Maccario . " Representing thirteen denominations of excellence, the Consortium is not only the custodian of an extraordinary winemaking heritage, but an interpreter of its evolution, a promoter of sustainability, quality and authenticity. During the event, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions that make the production of this denomination unique. The rich program includes a press conference presentation followed by a tasting, a guided masterclass for which reservations are required, and a typical dinner with Piedmontese excellences. A unique opportunity to discover, through the tasting tables set up by the producers, the Barbera d'Asti superiore sub-zone Colli Astiani .

The event, which sees the participation of producers, represents a unique opportunity to tell the story of this extraordinary territory and the bond that unites wine and tourism, offering participants an unforgettable food and wine and cultural experience.

Furthermore, the Barbera d'Asti e Vini del Monferrato Consortium , in collaboration with the city of Turin , is pleased to announce the launch, starting from April 20th and lasting one month , of the fifth of: “Albarossa in Tavola”, . The activity promoted by the Consortium has the objective of creating a direct link between producers and restaurateurs . “Albarossa in Tavola” will offer the opportunity to taste the Albarossa grape variety in about forty restaurants in Turin and in the Monferrato area , through a unique food and wine experience. Diners will be able to enjoy a dish specially designed , by each individual restaurateur, for the special event and paired with a glass of Albarossa , from the producer present in that specific restaurant, exploring new harmonies of flavours and enhancing the extraordinary peculiarities of this grape variety.

It will also be possible, in the restaurants participating in the initiative, to consult information material on the native black grape variety from which it takes its name: created in 1938 by Giovanni Dalmasso – one of the fathers of Italian ampelography – by crossing Barbera and Nebbiolo, it has managed to conquer a vast audience of admirers not only on the domestic market but also on the international one.

The initiative aims to promote the Piemonte DOC Albarossa wine, but also represents an opportunity to strengthen relationships between producers and restaurants, enhancing the collaboration between the wine and restaurant worlds.
