HEALTH IS GREEN / GREEN IS HEALTH. "Health Parks" for a neo-renaissance of greenery and its care .

• In its first 2021 edition , the Green White Book had collected over 50 technical-scientific contributions on the topics of planning, design, management, maintenance and care of green areas, provided by authoritative representatives of the Administrations, Universities and research institutions, technicians and experts of the sector, Companies and Professionals.
• In the second edition , the objectives were even more ambitious, involving doctors, psychologists, researchers and experts from the medical-health world - coordinated by Prof. Girolamo Sirchia at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità - together with university professors, technicians of the Administrations, planners and operators of the Green sector – coordinated by Assoverde and Confagricoltura, in collaboration with CREA, to reach a total of 58 technical-scientific contributions.

The conference, organized by Confagricoltura and Assoverde, with the collaboration of CREA, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and the professional associations , involves the main institutional interlocutors and representatives of the sector, calling the authors of the Focus White Paper of Green 22/23 to illustrate the specific contents, the proposals, the concrete solutions to be implemented.

Participation in the Conference/Webinar, in presence or remotely, with compulsory registration, provides for the recognition of CFP . Each Order/Professional College will assign CFPs for the initiative in the number and manner provided by the respective regulations.

The Conference therefore marks an important step in the process started, at national level, in Rome, on 12 October 2021 (formal delivery of the 2021 Green White Paper to the competent institutions) and in Milan, at MyPlant&Garden, on 23 February 2022 (presentation of the project new Focus 22/23), continued through the organization of various conferences at regional level - in Puglia (Andria, 2 November 2021), Lombardy (Lodi, 11 December 2021), Liguria (Genoa, 25 April 2022), Sicily (Catania , 13 May 2022), Tuscany (Florence, 7 July 2022), Sardinia (Cagliari, 20 September 2022), Veneto (Verona, 4 November), Lazio (Rome, 18 November) - as a conclusion and representation of the work carried out during the 2022, presentation of the Focus of the Green White Paper 22/23, and start of the new path to be implemented in 2023.

The challenging nature of the first edition of the Green White Book is even more ambitious in the Focus 22/23. The themes of greenery and its care are directly linked to the beneficial effects on people's health and psycho-physical well-being , in the broader assumption of the concept of "One Heath": Health of the Environment, People and Animals .

On this assumption, in this second year, the collaboration with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità and CREA was developed, involving doctors, psychologists, researchers and experts from the medical-health world in the working tables - coordinated at the ISS by Prof Girolamo Sirchia – together with university professors, administration technicians, planners and operators in the green sector – coordinated by Assoverde and Confagricoltura.

These two souls - Hippocrates and Plato - are working together to define, on a scientific basis, the measurable and certifiable requirements and parameters of the so-called "Health Parks" , in their various forms (parks and public gardens, green areas adjacent to commercial areas, in schools, areas pertaining to hospital structures, green areas in nursing and rest homes, etc.) and with respect to the different types of users (children, the elderly, the handicapped, suffering from certain pathologies, sportsmen, etc.): … Health Parks, to prevent certain pathologies, to improve people's psycho-physical well-being and quality of life, to reduce pollution and increase the quality of our cities.

The innovative - and challenging - nature of the new Focus 22/23 coincides with the desire to create a network of heterogeneous skills/knowledge , with a specifically operational purpose - the creation of a product, the so-called Parco della Salute - through the determination of data /measurable (quantitative and qualitative) indicators useful for assessing the quality/effectiveness of the intervention by product type and user category: parks/green spaces on a neighborhood scale; parks/green spaces for the elderly; parks/green spaces for children; etc..

As part of the Green White Paper process, launched on 12 October 2021 in Rome, at the national headquarters of Confagricoltura - a continuous and articulated path that moves from the national to the regional and local level, to bring nature back to our cities , to improve the quality of projects and interventions, to enhance the skills of those who work in this sector - the Conference of 20 January 2023 marks an important step, as a conclusion and representation of the works carried out during 2022, presentation of the Focus of Green White Paper 22/23 and launch of the new path to be implemented in 2023.

A path that will be divided, like last year, into new working tables (for the creation of a new Focus 23/24), new initiatives and conferences on the territories, new forms of aggregation, to root the Network established up to now with the Green White Paper, strengthen its objectives and, above all, implement the proposed solutions, programs and projects with the support and help of the Administrations.
